In September of 2022 I got to perform at Voyage To The Caverns, which is the festival put on by CloZee and her label, Odyzey Music.  This was a really special show for me because it was the first time I was asked to do a "DJ" Set as opposed to my typical live performance that I have always done.  Getting to put together a 60-min. DJ Set was new to me, and really exciting because I could mix in other people's songs along with my own throughout the set; something I never did before.  I put a lot of time and love into curating a badass 60-minutes of music, and I got to rethink how I perform on a scaled down version of just two MIDI Fighter controllers (if you know, you know) and be creative about how to still perform lots of elements live by finger-drumming samples and controlling numerous effects.  So this is officially my first ever 9 Theory DJ Set at a festival, and a turning point for me as an artist to begin rethinking how I approach playing shows forever moving forward.

Dawn's voice adds such an awesome, fitting mood to the track and lyrics, and the feel-good dance vibes as it builds are my favorite on the EP, plus this has a majorly downtempo trip-hop ending which I love too. This song, "Orale," is the first track on the record and has been masterfully remixed by my friend Tor, who is one of my favorite producers out right now. I have loved Keith's productions and remixes ever since we met back in San Diego's electronic music scene around 2008 when I was doing Inspired Flight and he was doing his Jamuel Saxon project.  We have always wanted to work together, and while you will likely see a 9 Theory x Keith Sweaty original collab later in the year, for now having him remix this track was a perfect way to get things going.
