Les Freres Courvoisier are Jonathan Canupp (of Ten and Tracer) and Joshua Smith (Time for Trees) who have come together on Archipel to deliver the mighty funky and sultry "Why Does Everybody (Move)".

The release is packed to just the right pressure with plenty of jazzy and warm house influences and "Sex Island" is the perfect way to enter into just that particular headspace with its lovely, sleepy yet upbeat, horn melodies wrapped up in foamy ocean spray. "C"est Soleil" hints at its content which is indeed rather sun-kissed and smiley full of warmth which is brought out by lightly shuffling percussion and bright dusty chords with a gentle vocal line sung in French which is woven in and out of the song's rhythm.

"Why Does Everybody" takes a darker and wobbly feel with skin melting textures curling their way tightly around rather cheeky monotonous vocals which might just be questioning the current state of music with a little wink.

London's DoubtingThomas brings us a heady and frothing asphalt sea called "Breaking Through The Noise".

The story begin with "Ribbon" and "Casa De Bas Bun" ripple up the spine with a down and gritty nature which firmly clutches one's neural axons and brings them nearer to each other, shortening synaptic clefts, and thus digging its rolling rhythmic paws into newly formed pathways with which to travel throughout novel unexplored territories of quantum electricity.

Again, "1980" and "Little Russian Magnet" travels along a darker and edgier roadway into more spacious rifts of flourishing cerebration, hypnotically whispering sweet mental, flickering and pulsing at auroral speeds, whilst stalker is a warped and arcing speculative spark trapped in the foggy cones cyclical street lamps during an early morning inner city stroll.

Archipel Musique is excited to introduce you to a new podcast by an artist from Austria: Siili.


siili, whose real name is Oliver, is a DJ and producer based in Vienna who has been creating music for almost 15 years. Born in Vienna, he has constantly developed musically over the years. Originally starting with deep and tech house, he has increasingly developed musically and personally in a more minimalist direction since his early 30s. Jazzy and especially organic tracks from the Micro House / Minimal House genres with a strong Romanian, but also dark touch are nowadays his favorite way of playing in longer sets. Today, extensive tension curves clearly have priority over danceability and high-energy. The same character is also present in his productions. Although he is now in his mid-30s and has a small family and dances at numerous other parties alongside his music, electronic music and its scene continue to have a consistently high priority for him. The vinyl lover is still regularly active as a DJ for Grätzlsound and other collectives. He is also the mastermind behind the "Hör Ma Sich" listening sessions, which he passionately organizes and hosts and which were initiated with Grätzlsound in the summer of 2022. So anyone who thinks you slow down in your thirties - you've been proven wrong.

Siili and Grätzlsound have inspired the Montreal equivalent of Sweet Spot, started by Pheek in 2024.
