Ilinx is a collection of tracks resulting from sound explorations carried out between 2020 and 2024.
During these years, the compositions were influenced by theoretical, visual, and sonic research. These focused on altered states of consciousness (hypnosis, lucid dreaming, sensory deprivation), psychophysical phenomena (otoacoustic emission, phosphene), the role of mental projections in the process of reality-making (perception), and the role of the imaginary in politics (ideology, distraction, alternative). These pieces are infused with these questions and focus on the induction of psychic states, suggestion of imaginaries, and perceptive confusion.

Ilinx is a collection of tracks resulting from sound explorations carried out between 2020 and 2024.

Paréidolie

Armand Lesecq, Halocline, 10’45, pièce multiphonique ambisonique version binaural, 2017.
Halocline, désigne la couche brumeuse apparaissant à la rencontre de deux strates d’eaux à la salinité différente. C’est une zone interstitielle, fine étendue opaque qui sépare et lie deux mondes, deux éco-systèmes, un au-dessus et un en-dessous. Espace déformant, environnement occulté et mouvant, c’est le lieu de l’invisible et le temps de l’apparition. L’épais brouillard voile des éléments sous pression qui, imprévisible, émergent et dévoilent les alentours.

Halocline refers to the phenomena visible as a hazy interface layer appearing between two strata of water of different salinity. It is an interstitial zone which separates and binds two worlds, two eco-systems, one above and one below. The thick fog veils the elements under pressure which emerge and reveal the surroundings.

«Exploration des interstices temporels et spectraux du sonore. Les matériaux étaient rythmes, distances, fragments et silences – ils sont devenus mouvements, illusions, balafres et surprises. Temps fluctuant où les formes s’étirent, transparaissent, se résorbent, s’affinent, se dissolvent.»

Cette pièce est une commande du Labo éditorial du collectif Relief. Elle a été publié dans la revue numéro 2 qui avait pour thématique l’interstice. Elle est associée à une création visuelle - une partition graphique - réalisée par Hyacinthe Lesecq.
