Label boss Nehuen and frequent Classicworks collaborator Nick Hook join forces on this EP for an unrelenting, dancefloor-directed homage to the hard house productions of labels such as Underground Construction and Dance Mania,infused with the playfulness and sophisticated production trickery for which these two are now notorious.

'How Y'all Feeling' opens the A-side, matching steamroller sized kick drums against drug-activating vocal samples, crisp 909 hi hats and claps, punctuated by intense funk stabs and wavy analogue synth breakdowns. 

'Work This Pussy' sees the EP step up in velocity, where minimal melodies play against some serious, speaker pumping kicks, playful toms and cheeky vocal cut ups that wouldn't sound out of place on a DJ Funk mixtape.

Complimenting the B-Side is fellow label head Cardopusher's 'E-rave '93' Remix of 'How Y'all Feeling', which strips back the four to the floor pummel of the original to an early 90's jungle / hardcore shuffle.

Referencing their love for meditative, hypnotic rhythm patterns and analogue synths, the producers focus on simple elements and formulas to create four tracks that are an essential addition to modern warehouse rave-ups.

Things start to get rough when Cardopusher kicks in with 'Hyperwave', which sees bouncy 303s against harsh drum machine bursts. 'Heatseeker', an overdriven, lofi acid track, exposes the producers love for analogue kicks of early hardcore and techno.

Nehuen gets things deep and textural with 'Non Verbal Thinking', relying on simple progressions washed in dirty reverb and echoing squarewaves. 'Mind Chats' comes in a warehouse mood full of white noise and acid baselines.

Cardopusher returns for another EP of heaters on his own Classicworks label. The producer delves even deeper into analog electronics and driving, 4x4 rhythms on his 'Police Is Coming' EP, showcasing a range of influences from percussive EBM to lo-fi warehouse acid with great aplomb.

'1989 Warehouse' kicks off proceedings with its stripped back, tape hiss flow, relying on its slow filter bassline and driving kick drums, which continue throughout the track as it journeys into industrial layering, hypnotic vocals and dark basement grooves.

The darkness and introspection of the first track is swapped out for a more urgent, analog rave attitude on 'Police Are Coming (Emergency Mixx)'. Toms and snares fly wildly around woozy sidechained pads and an acid bassline, recalling in every turn a wild 80's videogame police chase on repeat.

'Mouthwash Acid' polishes off Cardopusher's trilogy well, focussing right in on grinding 303 and staccato drum machine spurts. Taking its time to come together, this is Cardopusher at his cleverest, where seemingly disparate rhythms come together as a wavy, drug-induced whole, underpinned by unsettling vocal chants and plenty of dark, cave-like reverb.

The remixes add a welcome set of reinterpretations to the originals, with fellow Classicworks boss Nehuen flipping 'Police Are Coming' into a 3am acid anthem, with Barcelona rhythm master Phran resetting '1989 Warehouse' into a neck snapping serve of old school, saturated electro.

Classicworks presents ‘Hidden Traxx EP’, the latest in their growing roster of late-night dance jams, this time with label co-conspirator Nehuen taking the controls. His music  have always demonstrated a flare for hypnotic, cyclic melodies and neck snapping drum programming, and the four track here are no exception. All the songs on this EP were recorded in one take, with the Barcelonan’s studio of voltage-powered machines and synthesizers wrapping around themselves in a shuffling tapestry of midi, lo fi electronics and plenty of the TR-707 drum machine.

‘Jam 1’ starts things off with cruisy Juno pads, eventually underpinning a slow, drum machine focussed boogie, sliding between wompy analogue bass and slippery percussion. 

The swing gets jacked into a serious twist for 'Jam 2', with its unrelenting 303 and stomping drums rising and ascending in manic triplets and pure basement tension.

'Jam 3' sees Nehuen crank the levels, pumping heavily compressed drum patterns into machine-funk work outs with a little help from NY madman Nick Hook. 

Jam 4 rounds things off angularly, taking us on a  progressively journey into heavily filtered baselines and swirling cymbal patterns in the perfect anthem for bunkers the world over.

Classicworks celebrate it´s tenth release with the most extreme and out of the box part of their sound pallet,spreading the works of the eclectic Barcelona based duo Lolo & Sosaku.

From their beginning as painters, sculptors and street/video artists, they have  not stopped experimenting and pushing their capabilities. Few years ago they created wooden instruments to perform sonorous sculptures using natural forces like pendulous and electricity to make sounds.This forms part of what they would call, their “acoustic set”, which has been presented on many exhibitions and events around the globe. 

Since then, the duo has been asked to perform on clubs and electronic music festivals, for which they thought of developing an “electronic set” leaving aside the wooden instruments while keeping the spirit of the project . This is how "Super Hard Something" was conceived, a 16 track EP of harsh noise, power electronics and classic drum-machine sounds forming piles of distorted textures. Highly visceral, fast and frenetic music.
