THE STORY BEHIND THIS MIX / L'HISTOIRE DE CE MIX :

Finally after this long covid-19 interruption, festivals have come back and I could find my audience again at the Contratempo Festival in Bordeaux, France in September 2021. One of the nights, I had an early set and I decided to play a nice energetic, warm-up collection of songs we all know and like, just to enjoy hearing them and dancing to them again.

Après cette longue interruption due au covid-19, les festivals sont enfin revenus et j'ai pu renouer avec mon public au Festival Contratempo à Bordeaux en septembre 2021. Une des soirées, j'étais en charge d'un set tôt et j'ai décidé de jouer une collection de sons énergiques qu'on connaît et apprécie tous, juste pour le plaisir de les entendre à nouveau et de danser dessus.

🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷 Cela faisait très longtemps (plus de 2 ans !) que je n'avais pas publié de mix... et j'en ai un paquet que j'ai enregistrés en live en festival ou en soirée, qui dorment dans mon ordinateur ! Alors j'ai décidé d'en sortir quelques-uns et j'espère qu'ils vous plairont 😉🙏🏼
Ces mix sortiront sous forme d'une nouvelle série intitulée THE ART OF MIX by DJ Ash.
Le but est de vous présenter ma vision du mix, forgée par de longues années d'expérience, de travail, de réussites, d'échecs, de questionnements... et surtout de plaisir aux platines !
Cette série sera donc à mon image. Puisque l'éclectisme et la polyvalence ont toujours fait partie de ma signature, toutes sortes de styles seront représentés au fur et à mesure des volumes qui sortiront : kizomba authentique, urban, tarrax, ghetto zouk, semba, etc.
Au-delà des styles, ma vision du mix, c'est aussi avoir appris à tracer une ligne, à raconter une histoire pendant mes sets, à emmener les danseurs en voyage avec moi (quand ça marche !), et bien sûr à apporter un soin particulier à la fluidité et la musicalité des transitions... pour le plaisir de vos oreilles (et des miennes ! Car ce sont elles qui saignent en premier quand je me loupe).
Pour ce premier volet dénommé OPUS ONE, les styles seront urban - ghetto zouk - tarraxa - afrobeats. Ce mix a été enregistré en live il y a presque deux ans, vous y trouverez donc des sons que vous connaissez bien, mais aussi d'autres que vous n'avez que peu entendu, voire jamais... Vous pouvez me faire confiance 😉
Je profite de cette occasion pour remercier tous les artistes, chanteurs et beatmakers qui créent de la musique. Moi je suis le deejay, je ne fais que mixer, fusionner et pétrir leur musique comme on pétrit le bon pain.

It's been a very long time (over 2 years!) since I last published a mix... and I've got a bunch of them that I've recorded live at festivals or parties, just lying around on my computer! So I've decided to release a few, and I hope you'll like them 😉🙏🏼
These mixes will be released as a new series entitled THE ART OF MIX by DJ Ash.
The aim is to present my vision of the mix, forged by many years of experience, work, successes, failures, questioning... and above all, of pleasure behind the decks!
This series will be a reflection of myself as a deejay. Since eclecticism and versatility have always been part of my signature, all kinds of styles will be represented as the volumes come out: authentic kizomba, urban, tarrax, ghetto zouk, semba, etc.
Beyond styles, my vision of mixing is also to try and draw a line, to tell a story during my sets, to take the dancers on a journey with me (when it works!), and of course to take particular care with the fluidity and musicality of the transitions... for the pleasure of your ears (and mine! After all, they're the first to bleed when I screw up).
For this first instalment named OPUS ONE, the styles are urban - ghetto zouk - tarraxa - afrobeats. This mix was recorded live almost two years ago, so you'll find tracks you're familiar with, but also tracks you've heard little, if at all... You can trust me on that 😉
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the artists, singers and beatmakers who produce music. I'm the deejay, I just mix, fuse and knead their creations like we knead good bread.
So let me wish you a good musical appetite 🙃

It is all about showing that we can stop the "kizomba war" and RECONCILING people so that they dance together on the same music.

RECONCILIACÃO (Réconciliation) est un mix qui combine de la kizomba, du ghetto zouk, du semba et finit par une session afrohouse endiablée !!! 
Son but est de montrer qu'on peut stopper la "guerre de la kiz" et RECONCILIER les gens pour qu'ils dansent tous ensemble sur la même musique...

L'HISTOIRE DE CE MIX / THE STORY BEHIND THIS MIX:

'Back 2 Basics' is one of the greatest series of parties in Paris, France where genuine kizomba & semba are put forward. I had the honor to spin there on 18 May 2018. The energy in the room and the people that night were incredible and this atmosphere inspired me... So this is the live recording of one my sets on that crazy night!

"Back 2 Basics" est le nom d'une série de soirée parmi les meilleures en France autour de la kizomba authentique et du semba, et se déroule à Paris. J'ai eu l'honneur d'y mixer le 18 mai 2018. L'atmosphère et le public ce jour-là étaient incroyables, et leur énergie m'a inspiré... Voici l'enregistrement live d'une de mes sessions ce soir de folie !

THE STORY BEHIND THIS MIX / L'HISTOIRE DE CE MIX :

This live set was recorded in April 2018 in Munich, Germany, at the Kiz Invasion Festival and was since sleeping in my computer... It is my pleasure to offer it for you to listen on this Xmas day. This is a special mix of urban kiz and ghetto zouk music for lovers of slow motion, 'douceur' (sweetness) and the mood is perfect for afterparties. 
I decided to name it "AURORA", referring to the eerie atmosphere of Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). I hope you enjoy!

Cette session a été enregistrée en live lors du festival Kiz Invasion à Munich (Allemagne) en avril 2018. Depuis il dormait dans mon ordinateur... c'est un plaisir pour moi de le présenter à votre écoute en ce jour de Noël. Ce mix urban kiz et ghetto zouk ravira particulièrement les amateurs de douceur, slow motion (ralentis) et son atmosphère est parfaite pour les after. 

J'ai décidé de le baptiser "AURORA" en référence à l'ambiance iréelle des  aurores boréales (Aurora Borealis). J'espère que vous aimerez !

This mix was recorded live in Paris, during the Kizomba Paradise party (January 2019). There was a vibrant atmoshpere into the Semba room, it was lots of fun playing all these tracks (mostly semba plus some other styles)... This is why the mix is called SORRISO ("sourire") !  Hope you will love it!

Cette session a été enregistrée, durant la soirée Kizomba Paradise à Paris en janvier 2019. L'atmosphère était très vivante dans la salle Semba, jai eu beaucoup de plaisir à jouer ces morceaux (essentiellement semba avec quelques exceptions). It will please all urbanites with lots of UrbanKiz, Ghetto Zouk and Tarrax tracks! Melody isn't left behind either, no need to worry!

J'avais la sensation que mon mix était vraiment fluide ce jour-là, alors j'ai décidé de l'enregistrer pour le sortir plus tard. THE STORY BEHIND THIS MIX / L'HISTOIRE DE CE MIX :

This mix was recorded live at Kizomba Station Festival in Paris in August 2019. A very nice and sweet atmosphere was in the room, we had a great journey among these beautiful "luso" tunes! Most tunes are from Cape Verde in the CABO LOVE style, with a few other surprises here and there...

Il y avait une atmosphère très détendue et douce dans la salle, propice à un magnifique voyage dans les mélodies lusophones. La plupart des morceaux sont issus du Cap-Vert, dans le style appelé CABO LOVE avec bien sûr quelques surprises ici et là !
