Woot, finally another song! This time it's a hybrid of multiple genres and things, the whole track evolves and goes through different sections, starting out as orchestral dubstep and ending as a rock-guitar cinematic piece! I would love to give a shout out to Gaetano ( @gaetano-de-paola-1 ), he's the one who reached out to me and asked me to do a collab! He is responsible for a huge part of the orchestra bits.

"It's been a long time." Not only that these words appeared in their 2012 'For Science, You Monster' collab, but it actually has been quite some time since Qode and Fluxton combined forces to make a collaboration. Playing off each other's strengths, Fluxton and Qode exchanged their unfinished music projects and let the other one finish them. And now you can hear the result: Chase Me / Sistrum EP.

'Chase Me' started off as Fluxton's short atmospheric drum and bass intro with rhythmical pads and crunchy sound effects, but for a long time it was just that. Qode then expanded the idea into a whole tune with growling basses and sinister vocals.

'Sistrum' is an ancient Egyptian instrument. Inspired by Qode's layered ambient soundscape and nearly tribal sounding vocal line, Fluxton turned the project into a rhytmical halftime tune with sistrum-like sounds making an appearance, ticking away.

To further consolidate the idea of collaboration and the effect of both artists on each other, Chase Me and Sistrum flow one into another, creating a loop that can go on forever and be started anywhere.

After three long years of polishing this song, I finally came to terms with the fact I have to move on. I've hit the point of diminishing returns where I feel like I screwed up the song more by trying to compete in the loudness wars.
