I'm giving away 8 previously unreleased tracks in return for a donation to the charity Doctors Without Borders/Medicines Sans Frontieres in order to aid them with the work they are currently doing amongst the travesties that are currently occurring  in Aleppo and across the rest of Syria.  100% of your donation goes directly to the charity.

 My friend in Bristol managed to escape Syria last year (part of his journey involved swimming across the English Channel in the middle of the night) so the situation over there is something I've followed closely.  

Doctors Without Borders support eight hospitals in the city of Aleppo. They also run six medical facilities across northern Syria and support more than 150 health centres and hospitals across the country, many of them in besieged areas.

Critical Music reaches its 100th release in its 15th year, celebrating with the landmark album ‘Fifteen Years Of Underground Sonics’. Spanning the broad spectrum of drum & bass that the Critical sound represents, the exceptional ‘15’ album is as bold as it is beautiful and looks to serve the test of time in the D&B history books.

“Over the past 15 years the label I started as a hobby, as a way to involve myself in drum and bass, has taken over my life. I’m so lucky to have worked with such incredible artists, have them realise their creativity, and travelled all over the world spreading the sound I love.

I deliberated for a long time over what type of record we should put together to celebrate reaching both our 15th birthday and 100th release. I like to think of us as a label that looks forward, that focuses on what the future holds and on how to make statements without sacrificing our core ideals, to release exciting music centred around the 170bpm tempo. So with this in mind I wanted the LP to be about where the label is now and where it’s going, a snapshot of the music that represents the Critical sound by core label acts and some choice friends.

Oh lordy, here we go again. Synonymous around the world with the very best in electronic music, Critical welcome back three enormous talents from the world of drum & bass; long time scene veteran Sabre and songstress Riya alongside Critical label resident, Foreign Concept. The results are as you’d expect astounding, so delay no more and wrap your ears around some seriously depth defying sounds.

Sabre makes a timely return since the impressive ‘Oblique’ hit the shelves at the start of the year and this time draws in the vocal dexterity of Riya who sparkles over ‘Injustice’, a mesmeric journey deep into the musically masterful mind of the studio technician. Sit back and let the piano draw you in as the groove carries you away for yet another slice of supreme yet understated Sabre.

Taking things even further into the caverns is Foreign Concept who delivers his most sparse slice of D&B yet on ‘Affliction’ with yet more musings from the seductive Riya. Halftime breaks and more glistening chords strike into the senses for four minutes of
