As Odd Chap said: "Right before I even started making electro swing I was listening to Lyre Le Temps (in particular "Looking Like This" which i stumbled across on Funky Pandas channel) which helped hook me into the electro swing genre and showed me how you could blend electro swing with all these different styles. This was early/mid 2015. Fast forward to 2016 and they drop their Prohibition Swing single and album and it completely blew me away, I listened to it soooo much, especially during the time when i was helping to work on Offbeat's album (poor Offbeat is still probably sick of that album i played it so much haha). But I absolutely love their sound."

All the trademark sounds are present and correct in the second single of 2023 from prolific classically trained composer and multi-instrumentalist RIFF KITTEN who has by now released an album a year on FRESHLY SQUEEZED since 2020's KITTY LITTER.

Over that time his trademark dark cinematic electro swing sound has broadly evolved to a more frenetic and upbeat jazz-influenced approach and also included countless self-released demos and side-albums. Riff Kitten and Kumiho are back! Following-up their huge collaborative single FALLEN WORLD, the American duo are together again for another Dark Electro Swing moment picking right up where they left off

KUMIHO is a Californian musician and burlesque performer who crosses the boundaries between the two genres. She collaborated with Riff Kitten on their previous single 'Fallen World'. She also has her own band and has done multiple singles and one album under the Kumiho moniker. Her name is taken from a Korean folk tale of a shapeshifting nine-tailed fox that lures victims to their death!

RIFF KITTEN has been one of the most exciting new producers to emerge on the Electro Swing scene in recent years. Classically trained in composition at the University of Minnesota, he came over to the dark side when he fell in love with electronic music shortly after graduation. His music features an eclectic fusion of his wide influences and his time scoring adverts and trailers.

Created in 2004 by producer and multi-instrumentalist Paul Thorpe, the Voodoo Trombone Quartet began as a joke. Thorpe had posted some tracks by the fictitious quartet on an Internet message board, claiming they were recently rediscovered recordings by a long lost combo.

His fun mix of classic ska and modern breakbeat immediately took off, with the board receiving thousands of requests for downloads. The Freshly Squeezed label noticed, signed the “band,” and released a self-titled debut album in 2005. Thorpe then recruited an eight-piece band, dressed them in suits and matching fezzes, and toured Europe.

They were a hit at festivals and landed one of their tracks, Voodoo Juju, in LittleBigPlanet for the PSP! In 2008 Thorpe announced that a second album was in the final stages and the band would be hitting the road once again.
