Premier drum & bass label Amusement Audio returns this November with Brave Boys, a joint EP from label boss Glitch City and Jersey-based producer Contagion. In true Amusement Audio fashion, Brave Boys promises a brain rewiring drum & bass journey, four tracks long and unrelenting in its pursuit of maximum rave energy.

Brave Boys is a weapons-grade drum & bass record. A rising tide of melodic pads and a soaring melody line provide the introductory sounds of EP opener ‘Witchcraft’. They soon give way to crunching synth jolts, eventually joined by rushing percussion lines as the track opens up into a high-speed mix of precise drum lines, blunt-force bass stabs and mangled samples.
‘Brave Boys’ keeps the vigour high with a distorted melody that cuts through the speakers. ‘Diwali’ opens with plucked string lines and crying guitar chords. When the verse hits, it’s screwface energy as Glitch City and Contagion craft a web of basslines armed with a legion of distortion.
‘Smilers’ closes out the release with minimal and techy energy. Built around arpeggiated bass and lightspeed drum programming, this one’s made for forgetting your environment and letting the music guide you.

Esteemed drum & bass producer Glitch City returns to Amusement Audio, his own label, with
the Gully EP. A four-track release, the EP explores the genre's heavier side through unrelenting jump up tunes designed to emit maximum energy. Expect huge drops, crunching bass sounds and exciting build-ups. No matter where you are, the Gully EP will have you moving in an instant.

'Gully Ting' opens the EP. Here, eastern-inspired intro riffs ring out over sturdy drums, the track eventually descending into a flurry of distorted bass that scatters into many directions.
'Soul Catcher' is potent. After an amorphous introduction and a quick drum fill, the track becomes organised chaos. Drum lines hit the ears like machine guns, and frenzied 8bit samples provide decoration among the sonic assault.

The penultimate track, 'That's Good', is a striking piece of tear-out D&B. The rhythms shake like tectonic plates, sure to have a foundation rattling effect on many a raver.

'Space Hop' closes the Gully EP. Cosmic samples and modulated vocals create the introduction; the verse is populated by a lead riff that glitches out over ample bass and drums. It's a minimal affair, perhaps the most mellow track on the EP. You get the feeling Glitch City opted for atmosphere over heavy sonics. But make no mistake, 'Space Hop' still carries impact: it's designed to light up the world's sound systems.

Gully EP will arrive on all digital platforms on the 27th May.

Loopmasters proudly presents Glitch City - Galactic Drum & Bass, the latest powerhouse addition to our drum and bass collection. Glitch City emerged on the scene in 2016 after being announced as the first signing to The Prototypes' label, Get Hype Records. His debut single, Black Hole Skank, was supported by UKF following its exclusive first play on BBC Radio 1 by DJ Friction. He is also recognised for his productions under the previous alias, Samy Nicks (& Rekwest).

After a series of heavy releases on Get Hype Records, Glitch City expanded his production portfolio, creating dancefloor anthems for respected labels such as Technique Recordings, Viper Recordings, Ram’s sister label ProgRam, and Formation Records to name a few. Glitch has performed internationally at clubs and festivals, with notable highlights including a residency at Fabric Nightclub in London, DJ SS’s World of Drum & Bass USA Tour, and the Let It Roll Festival.

At the beginning of 2024, he relocated to a new studio, launching Culture FM, alongside former graduate colleague, Agro. Known for his high-energy sets and innovative production, Glitch City has solidified his position in the music industry.

Influenced by his debut title “Black Hole Skank”, expect an array of cosmic leads, weighty space-bass tones, and punch-impacting drums. Glitch’s production stems from a combination of Music Technology & Sound Engineering at A-Level grade, classical training in piano and violin, recording for live musicians, tuition from recognised producers, in particular Heist and Circadian, as well as gaining a degree in Music & Business Management. 

Galactic Drum & Bass has been recorded and engineered utilising a variety of instruments, hardware, and digital synthesisers - recording any sound that cuts the cloth on the frequency spectrum. Inside, you’ll find rumbling basslines, full drum loops paired with matching tops, and a variety of arpeggios, leads, and pads. A selection of effects is also included, perfect for creating seamless transitions and adding dimension to your tracks.

Lots of music derives from sampling in one way or another, but originality is key. Use these to create and be inspired by in your compositions. Twist them up, get imaginative with your sound design, chop, and change them and have fun!

In detail expect to find 235 MB of 24Bit 44.1KHZ wavs - 62 Synth Loops, 30 Bass Loops, 10 Full Drum Loops, 10 Top Drum Loops, 4 Fx Loops, 3 Pad Loops, 59 Synth Hits, 51 Drum Hits, 26 Bass Hits, 15 Perc Hits, and 2 Fx.

This collection is also fully Loopcloud ready.
