If you've come this far down, this is what I considered to be my first true successful song as an artist. This is what I consider my origin song, not because it's the first song I ever made, but because it was the first song that felt real to me, and that I had produced myself. 

It came at a time when I was dealing with the divorce of my parents and the dissolution of my family, which was a terribly traumatic time in my life. I know divorce is pretty normalized, these days, but I came from and incredibly Christian family, where it was preached to us that divorce was unforgiveable and would not happen. Under the circumstances I was raised in, that was why this event hit me harder than it might have for others. This was the moment in my life that sent me into a 180. From this point on, I questioned everything, including my faith, upbringing, and my place in society, and quite possibly is what pushed me into music, rap especially. I carried a lot of anger and anguish.

That feeling, that loss, and that sense of being lost is what I put into this track, and whether others feel it or not, it brings all of those emotions flooding back every time I replay it. That is why I consider this my origin song. That is why I consider this to be my first true success as a recording artist.
