On my path back into making music, playing with the tools I have at my disposal. This is the result of me trying to use iOS GarageBand sounds, patterns, and the arrangement tool.

Mortgage Music - as if I was peering years into the future and predicting the need for some healing because of the predatory loaning that has been hatched on the people. I wasn't though. I just remember getting inspired one day back in the lab (2002) to rock a little house from the High School days. It came off ok - a few hiccups here and there, sound a little too hot in a couple of spots, but overall, you can nod your head to it. I plugged the Numark directly into the desktop PC with some Radioshack RCA to mini-stereo plugs strung together with Radioshack connectors, so don't be surprised at the hum you'll hear in the tender moments. It probably wouldn't be noticeable if I hadn't mentioned it. Sorry.I had to do a little bit of re-constructive rework to reproduce this track as a single file to be streamed.

Spring Sprung Up (House and uptempo joints)

Just came across this tape in a box of MANY of tapes, just like it. DJ SlipNot Party Tape 1 ... is all it says in teal paint marker. It's from back when I was known as DJ SlipNot. And I made party tapes, oh yes. I'm gonna pin the year at 1995, although I truthfully can't remember when I recorded this mix to cassette.

In that traditional party DJ m.o., I started this mix with some R&B and transitioned into hip-hop. The 90 minutes of tape didn't allow me to get into the uptempo, but that was surely right around the corner. The blends are tight and sharp; the song selections well thought out and harmonious. Travel back to the 90's with this one.
