Since then, it's gone through many transitions, different song ideas with a handful of different artists. The only other person who has this beat is my homie Just Blaze. You may or may not remember him playing this beat for Blackthought to freestyle over, on the Combat Jack Show last year.

I wanted to finally put this beat out, in its rawest form, for the masses to hear.

This sample/loop pack is extra special. The sauce in this one is pretty NUTS. I went ahead and pushed myself to the max with these textures and spacey synthesizers without getting too overbearing or complex. There's just enough texture in here to leave space (pun intended!) but also wild enough to stand out from the rest. Two of my idols are Michio Kaku and Neil Degrasse Tyson, both of whom are geniuses when it comes to space exploration. In studying them, I tried to duplicate the feeling of what 'outer space' would sound like. You can do so much with these melodies. Hi-Hats are the groove. In modern day music, especially trap, the hi-hats dictate the groove and the way people move. I feel that the hi-hat patterns derive from the feel of marching band music. These grooves dictate a specific energy and pocket for the listener to follow and for the artist to paint a picture to. One of the biggest challenges is to determine what type of pattern to use when creating a beat. There are unlimited ways to approach a hi-hat pattern. I wanted to help solve that problem by creating a set of HI-HAT LOOPS that you can easily plug into a melody or drum pattern you already started.
