FM-Underground Radio Preview

So this was a lot of fun to write. I was inspired by some music from the Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle series which has some of my favorite genesis music of all time. So basically it's a Yuzo Koshiro inspired original piece as a tribute to his style and how much he influences my sound. At the same time, it also has a Jredd twist :). I hope you all enjoy it because I sure enjoyed writing it :D.  Who knows, maybe it'll find it's way into a Streets of Rage fan game or something :P. So, DJ Cutman made an awesome remix of a Star Tropics song. I watched his live stream remix on youtube and wouldn't you know it the song got stuck in my head so I figured I'd give my own arrangement of it a shot. it ended up sounding quite a bit more funky than the original. I guess you could call it something like Ristar Tropics ha ha ha.  This one's for you DJcutman! I hope you enjoy it :). Keep doing what you're doing man. It's awesome :). This is some kind of crazy collaboration between Rob, Tudd and I. We had a great time working on this together and we haven't formed a team like this one since "Progressions". It felt awesome to work on this and you should expect many more collaborations in the future!

Well, it's a new year and I've made a new friend :). This time it's a collaboration with MBtech! I helped him learn the basics of VGM Music Maker and now he's taking off. The core idea of this tune is his, but I tweaked it quite a bit and upped the sound design. Together, we created this! I think many more collaborations between us are in the near future. This is a heck of a way to kick of 2015! Thanks MBtech! We make a killer combo! :D

Thanks once again to @Diagamblic for providing that awesome string section. It was a loop he made and then cut up into smaller chunks to fit into the PCM Sample channel. I went a little hyper on it, and some elements of the song might not be what you traditionally think of when you think funk but I think it has enough going for it to qualify. Here is the music for Illusion Fort Zone. This level is supposed to be a trip, so I figured shimmery chords and a floating lead with some grimy FM bass and powerhouse drums might be a cool way to go. The second half goes half time into some pseudo future bass territory for a break down, which I hope rounds out this fun little loop of twists and turns :).  Thanks for listening.

Errr, here's something I made in about an hour.

Road Trip Sips.

So, it's usually not my custom to get super personal on here but basically 3 months ago my mom unexpectedly passed away. Needless to say, my motivation for anything musical has been close to zero for a while. As they say though every cloud has a silver lining.

It wasn't more than 3 days after this happened that the apartment I have been wanting opened up and I finally got the chance to live on my own for the first time in my life. It took me a while to get up the gumption to move but with the help of friends and family I am now settled in my new place.

So with this, I feel the title of this track is fitting. After 3 months of nothing musical at all I'm feeling motivated again and I think that it's a good stepping stone toward recovery with the grieving process and whatnot.

I hope you guys enjoy this one and I hope it does well, but more than anything it's just nice to make music and feel a little more like myself again.

That Bonus Round Sound

Hi guys, it's been a long time! I thought I start 2020 with a new sound! I made this short piece using Rymtik Studio. It's an update to those music apps on DSi and 3ds and I am really enjoying the sounds and features it has so far. The inspiration for this little tune is what if Raditz survived in Dragon Ball Z and became a good guy? This is what I imagine his theme might sound like for an early 2000's English Dub Bruce Falconer score. Enjoy!
