Keep Deep Presents Volume Four

This album represents a time in my life where I've been able to overcome drug addiction by focusing deeply on my music. Music has already saved my life in the past as I've dealt with depression, (and still sometimes do), and there was a point when my music was the only thing keeping me going. I know that I will be an addict for the rest of my life, but in taking it one day at a time, my music really helps to keep me on the right path. “Highly Addictive” represents how music has become a healthy “addiction” in my life, and how it has replaced the negative ones, again most likely saving my life in the process.

All tracks were written, produced, and mastered by M. Orlando (Mikrodot)

The Widdler ft SerpentEyes - Black Hawk Down (SerpentEyes Remix)

Morning High ushers in a new era for Dank ‘n’ Dirty with a three-track 140 EP featuring DJ Variant. The Denver-based producer returns to the label for his debut solo release after providing serious heat for the yearly 420 compilation series.  The EP also welcomes DJ Variant to the Dank ‘n’ Dirty Dubz roster, marking his debut release on the label. 

Morning High gets straight to the point with ‘Systems’, a no-nonsense wobbler rolling around in classic dubstep textures. Then DJ Variant steps up to collaborate on ‘Melfina’, creating a forest of luscious pads and stomping basslines guided by enigmatic female vocals. Finally Morning High steps off the forest path and heads deeper into the wilderness with ‘Chakka’, where zithers, metallic distortions and murky synth voices dance over twisting sub bass.

Throughout 2022, Dank ‘n’ Dirty Dubz are celebrating 12-years of releasing soundsystem music with a brand-new look, revamped logo and a monthly drop schedule totalling 12 new releases this year. The label is excited to welcome back artists who have continually provided great music to the catalogue over the years, as well as create new connections with producers who are making waves in underground dance music worldwide. Dank ‘n’ Dirty Dubz is proud to honour this intent with its first release of the year, a 3-track dubstep EP from American producers Morning High and DJ Variant.

Beatrice M.'s Bait invites Trois-Quarts Taxi System back into the fold for both the artist’s and label’s debut album release, ‘Plexus’. Leaning into innovative 140 mutations, Trois-Quarts Taxi System dedicates his first long-format release to exploring the depth of this space and stepping away from his usual 170/80 sound. A deep meditative journey of introspection.

Taking the name ‘Plexus’ from a key he found in the street, the album is split into various parts with the heart of album comprised of three parts of ‘Plexus’ - drone-like soundscapes which retrace different states using a variety of acoustic and electronic sounds combined with samples from an anonymous cassette found in the street. This hybridisation of sound is often influenced by ideas Trois-Quarts Taxi System comes across whilst working on his live shows; an artistic practice that is very important to his output. On this occasion, Trois-Quarts Taxi System has used this extended period to explore the bridge between dubstep, techno and experimental, pieced together with quiet ambient moments.

D3XTR - This Is Acid (Reigamortis Remix)

After Dark Music [ADM] announces the release of Dark Effects EP, a collection of five unique tracks by Austrian producer SmallTownDubz, based out of Lienz. 
SmallTownDubz has carved a unique space in the underground since 2015, blending modern stepper rhythms, vast, resonant basslines, and atmospheric textures. This EP showcases and expands on their signature style, fusing traditional dub roots and proper sound system culture with forward thinking bass music.
As a collection of work, these songs will draw the listener through pulsing rhythms and absorbing soundscapes. Each track layers thoughtfully arranged percussion on top of expansive and low end, paired with ethereal melodies. This approach reflects an obvious mastery of creating both dancefloor energy and introspective vibes. As we welcome SmallTownDubz to ADM's domain, we note that we are building on their established reputation from releases on labels like Moonshine Recordings, BassComeSaveMe and Dub Communication, while pushing their sound into new territory.

"Opening the LP, we welcome Clearlight to the label with the track "Cavern Sound." With almost tribal-like vibes, a haunting atmosphere and drums that take you on a journey. Khromi's remix of "Fever Mood" is smooth, jazzy and infused with his own style. Mikrodot's Monastery paves the way into deep sub driven vibes with Tetrad and newcomer, Boneless carrying the vibe into darker and deeper territory. Repulsion's "VRR" takes the mood of the compilation into darker territory as it flips between breakbeats and minimalist influences. Newcomers Buex & No Compli balance floaty textures of atmosphere with jungle influenced breakbeats in their track "Ghosts Of Spice". While Inertia changes the direction of the album with his track "Nobody" featuring a massive, thick reverberating subline with a distorted Reese, it segues nicely into the album closing tracks by Split and NRB finishing out the album on a more aggressive and heavy feeling.
