It’s with great pleasure that we welcome an old friend and contemporary, Yamaneko, to the Little Corner label with ‘jbreezesunset’.

Six years after his relocation from London to Tokyo, this EP recalls the sound of his early era-defining LP’s 'Pixel Wave Embrace' and 'Project Nautilus' on Local Action, told through the time-worn lens of acclimatisation and assimilation in another country. Where those records often touched upon Japanese ambient music and videogame soundtracks with an outsider's admiration from afar, this EP refocuses the ever-present influence of grime, techno, funky, new age and even Mr. Oizo-like glitch from a new distance and mindset. And though this record is more beat-focused and surprisingly club-ready than other recent works, the space and distance between each kick, clap or meticulous SFX-grabs are just as important as his impeccable sound selection and design.

With charming artwork to match from one of Yamaneko's personal favourite new artists and illustrators Léa Siffert.
