MILC019 is really the release that kicked off the new year for milc. It represented a fresh new start for us because honestly in my (Gutz) opinion it was our biggest release to date, the sound totally represented what milc is all about, keeping it real, we felt Skinzmann was a good representation of that attitude and style, which was perfect to shift the sound of our label in a new direction. All of the songs on the release are mentionable. Starting off with 'TeenYouth' the favorite of the release, is just a straight club going massacre, people will not be ready for this tune, period. Ring D'alarm comes in with the follows up, starting right away with a quick switch up on the drop making the dance shift, great for switching up the vibe. 'Headtop Riddim' is a straight gully slap if you like that deep slow skanky stuff. 12 Gauge is that tune that gets everybody straight dubstepn', it has that 2 step march that dubstep craves these days! If you had the digs for Badklaats old stuff from back in 2011-2012 era you will love the twist on the style with Skinzmann's 'Frequency Bass'. After a truck load of bangers to your face, its always good to 'Spread Out' and light one up with the last tune on the release, well, 'Spread Out'.

Evo is a 21 year old, Southern California based producer who has had his tunes sitting on the back burner with milc since day one! Get Up literally was going to be on the Ugly compilation but we felt it was a little ahead of it's time and sat on it. 2 years later I (Gutz) banged out a remix having forgotten about these golden stems, and decided to slap it on the roster just a few weeks ago! The team agreed at the milc headquarters (facebookchat) that it was solid enough to release and voila! Evo also has a forthcoming tune coming out on the 'milc DUBS' compilation that has some serious herbman vibes with flutes and shit, got it going on! [MILC023] Gutz - 'Kidz Remixes' EP Sampler (OUT NOW!)

Chief Kaya, a badman with a laboratory perched up deep in the mountains of Tennesse, somewhere on the East Side of the US, has delivered to us some serious dance floor firepower. Opening up his EP with the crowd favorite 'Apex' things will sink into a deep and dark wonky abyss with monstrous bass stabs and a mystical atmosphere. Traces of hiphop can be found somewhere in this dark bass pool with 'Elements' with almost sort of hiphop B Side feeling to compliment 'Apex' and the next track on the EP, 'Extinction'. With 'Extinction' Kaya picks the rhythm up while keeps his signature swing in his dark array of basses, one can imagine the mad scientist at work in his lab while listening, the whirring sounds of electronic gadgets and the bubbling pots of boiling chemicals crackling and popping about. 'Checkmate' featuring Marlo, adds a nice twist to the EP switching the sounds up and delivering some contrast to the early, 'dark and mysteriousness' of the EP. The second collab on the EP 'Life' featuring Gutz, is the odd one of the bunch. Both Kaya and Gutz are hiphop heads and ended up turning, what started out as a dusbtep project into a straight hiphop roller! The tune is laced with a beatiful arrangement of 808 goodness, perfect tune to light one up to. Last but not least the long anticipated Wulf Remix of 'Apex', and what a remix it is. Apex, which is an already impeccable piece of dubstep mud pie, basically just had a barrel of rotten cherries dumped on it with this remix, which is perfectly okay to say, since the tune is so damn dirty. Pick up this EP, it is truly one of our best representations of the milc sound.

I directly chopped up some shitty half assed wannabe Monsta Art, so we could release this freebie ASAP as part of the FREEMILC series! (So we do owe monsta one!) This Fresh milc EP is SERIOUS, and loaded with 3 SkintDisco dubs & 2 Bonus Tracks that are all honestly complete fire, and that we would've been more than delighted to have as an official release!

Denver's very own Myxed Up has brought in the vibes with the Protection Dub EP which has been out now for a few weeks (that you can pick up in any and all digital music retailers). Myxed Up has definitely brought in the new year with the proper positive vibes and energy that seems to be radiating out of the Denver underground scene long before the legalization of the sweet sweet cheeba. The Protection Dub EP opens up with just that, Protection Dub, directly hitting the listener below the belt. The depth is real. Clear Thinking, (my personal favorite) is where the heart of all that positive energy is gathered on the EP, the track is truly an inspirational one, cannot pinpoint where the sample is from, but it just compliments the production so well, hats off to the kid.Boomah was the tune that first got us hooked on Myxed Up's sound, the air and minimal approach was the perfect dub to fit in our sets, deep, dark and ugly. (Boomah was originally planned to be released on the forthcoming Deep compilation :P) Sacred, atmospheric pads, DEEEP bass, and incredibly tranquil vibes; qualities that ooze from the Rocky Mountain resident. Ancient another favorite of ours is the one to drop on the masses, bathe them in the bass. The EP comes to a violent close with Gutz' roller of a remix of Boomah, which you can hear a wash of authentic SRE 555 chorus echo splash all around all over the place, quite nice. We should also be expecting some bonus tracks (freebies) in the near future from man Myxed Up but for now make sure to grab this HUGE EP in stores now!

I look at Cerebral Cortex as an updated tribute to Styn & Jordan's Gutter ep, because it is just that, GUTTER as fuck! The sound that Machina has been bringing for the past couple of years has really lifted the bar in the dance floor dubstep genre, countless DJs have been rinsing practically the whole EP for a few months now. Bioweapon, is already a warehouse rave anthem, played by the likes of Gutz, SkintDisco and many others! Variation Drone has been on the back burner and is one to whip out when you need to recharge the energy in the dance, guaranteed mosh pit material. Cerebral Cortex & Russian Roulette are absolute bangers and are so fun to chop on the real. This EP is a must have milc release and will definitely do its job at the rave, bangers on top of bangers. With MILC002 we knew we had to go all in to follow up the debut release of the UGLY compilation and it's success. Being a new and fairly unknown label, it was really hard to convince people like Lifecycle and Megalodon to sign with us (still is difficult). So we kind of had to bend over backward and take a big loss with an advance we couldn't afford at the time to make this marketing strategy and release plan happen, the idea of having only big tunes by big boys in our debut lineup was key to making milc respectable right off the bat. After debuting on the beatport charts in the top 10, you would start to hear this single more and more in warehouses all over the world. Lifecycle (NL) really did give us the honor to present to you, two of his best works, 'Ziek' & 'Bassline Rider'. So many heads have already told us his release has been deemed a classic, that is before it was even out! Make sure to pick up your copy of MILC002 if you haven't already!

Wulf's debut EP into the scene began with the Finish Him EP! As one of the original milc heads we felt we had to do this one big! The art, the remixes, the collabs all were a huge effort in our early stages as a label, and they definitely payed off, 'Bounce' by Wulf was one of our best selling tunes in 2013, not to mention "Dumbo Riddim - Gutz Remix's" comeback in early 2014. Anyway, this is a staple EP to have in the milc collection, period!
