When you're talking about techno, few names have been innovating and evolving as much as Robert Hood. When he's not running things over at M-Plant, he can be found touring the festival circuit with his live show and releasing tonnes of fresh new material.

Today we concentrate on his more melodic alias and under the name Floorplan, Hood has released a stunning album showcasing a slightly different yet equally strong sound.

A new EP is set to drop featuring two re-edits of tracks that appeared on his Floorplan album 'Paradise'. 'Phobia' and 'Never Grow Old' have been given a special Re-Plant and we have the premiere of the latter.

The Mix 038: Taiki Nulight

Two hours of techno, electro, and trance euphoria from @ki_slash_ki on the Warsaw leg of the Mixmag x Burn Energy Tour 2024.

The second stop on the Burn Energy Tour 2024 put focus on the Polish capital with a full throttle line-up headlined by Dutch master of euphoria KI/KI, followed by Sept, Hekato and Ola Tecks at the spectacular Palace of Culture and Science.

The Burn Energy Tour’s lens on Warsaw’s nightlife is a testament to the game-changing work being achieved in the city, with promoters and collectives like Narocz 13, Tainspotting, Oramics and INSTYUT, and clubs such as Smolna, Luzztro and Jasna 1, forging a distinct musical identity in the city that is the best it's ever been.

In the daytime, Mixmag and Burn presented a workshop with The Blu Mantic interviewing Sept, Ola Teks and Cyryl on the topic of 'How to run your own club night'. Through their own parties such as DUEL and Move Mózg, these artists have changed the landscape of Warsaw’s dance music scene, throwing parties in interesting and offbeat locations, pushing new sounds to the fore, standing for inclusive values, and opening the minds of the next generation. Practical advice was given on how to conceptualise and build your own events, helping to inspire new members of the club community and progress the future of the scene with fresh energy.

Warsaw was the second stop on the Burn Energy Tour 2024, following the debut event in Budapest with additional stops set for Italy and Spain.

"The mix is an hour of the different sonic landscapes and artists that I think fit perfectly into my ideology of what Northern Gothic could be, each one of those songs speaks to the ethos of it, whether it be through its geography, expression, or even nuanced technique. "For this mix, I actually did something really special. I’m premiering the remixes from my Subject Detroit compilation, and I’ve also created five new tracks specifically to play in this mix. There are a couple of other tracks from some amazingly talented artists in there as well. The focus is an uptempo, danceable, but super funky techno mix – not sleepy, not slow – just Detroit style. That’s what I love to do. It’s got to be funky, but it has to have that pace and danceability."

Released back in 2006, 'Atlas' has reached its ten year anniversary and what better way to celebrate than with some shiny new remixes? From one duo another, Swiss pair Adriatique have swapped DIYmanic for devilish with their new re-imagining.

They've taken the techno bruiser and turned into a twinkly builder, one that keeps intact all of the components that make the original so good. The colossal main riff is still there, creating a nice amount of dread while tones flutter innocently in the background.

Laurence Guy returns to Church with a full album of possibly his best material to date.

French producer Folamour launches Moonrise Hill Material, a label he co-founded with Ethyene, Kaffe Crème and Okwa, with his second album titled 'Umami'. 

At just over ten minutes, 'Devoted To U' is the longest track on the album, but rightfully so. The ballad takes listeners on a sonic journey through Folamour's dancefloor-focused motif with warm textures and infectious rhythms. 

The album itself is an ode to his love of Japanese culture. Expect to find a diverse mix of house, disco swing and future jazz when 'Umami' is released on September 29.

If you’ve caught a set from Adam Beyer recently, chances are you remember this track causing mayhem. ‘Your Mind’ is a banging new collaboration with Dutch talent Bart Skils, and it absolutely caught the attention of his Timewarp, Awakenings and Ultra set audiences with its haunting chorus chant.

Her remix of Loefah’s classic Disko Rekah came to prominence through the infamous Boiler Room by Sherelle and as all the forums buzzing.

Two of the most earnest techno acts in the scene, ARTBAT links up with Matador and his RUKUS imprint for their debut collaboration 'Apollo 11' - a direct and out of this world two-tracker named after the first successful moon landing.

The Kiev-based duo and the Irish DJ-producer have handed the title-track over to Mixmag ahead of the record's release on March 15. With its driving rhythmic elements, vigorous pads and lively arpeggiator breakdown, 'Apollo 11' is a tune that has gotten nothing but an ebullient reaction from dancefloors all around the globe.

Techno phenomenon Amelie Lens is gear up to deliver 'Hypnotized' - another masterful EP filled with peak-time weapons set to land on June 28 via Second State.

Ahead of the three-tracker's release, Lens has handed over rising Belgian duo Joyhauser's remix of the title track.
