Near Moon is a project by Munir Amastha that is influenced by world cultures merged together with a more placid, deep and eclectic side of electronic music.

Munir Amastha is a DJ , producer and musician that has been in the music business for over 15 years. For him it goes beyond passion, profession or even obsession. Music is an essential way of expression that keeps his mind alive. That is the main reason he’s consistently working with extensively diverse music. He is the founder of the Atlanta based Revolt Records imprint. His music has been remixed by Sharam Jey, Peter Makto and Jelly for the Babies. His work has been supported by Nicole Moudaber, Hernan Cattaneo and John Digweed. Among his other projects are Rinak, Near Moon and M.O.M.

This week, welcome good friend, Colombia-based DJ and Producer @MunirAmastha to the @endlesssandsoftime mix series. Join us as Munir presents 'Near Moon' on ESO, a deep house and downtempo journey full of groove and World and Eastern soundcapes.

Munir is a DJ  currently living in Barranquilla that has been in the music business  for more than a decade. For him it goes beyond passion, profession or even obsession. Music is an essential way of expression that keeps his mind alive. That is the main reason he's consistently working with extensively diverse music.

In his DJ sets, he displays masterful command of effect units and engages in high risk mixing in order to use creativity to the maximum potential and generate originality every time he plays out. He has held multiple long lasting residencies at various places in Atlanta including two weekly residencies that lasted over nine years combined. 

"Eksperyment" which is his first EP, produced with close friend Voytech was well received and supported by Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Nicole Moudaber and many more. His most recent EP "Can You Feel The Night" which features  vocalist Sauli Harper has been supported by Eelke Kleijn, Matt Darey, Darin Epsilon and many more. He has multiple remixes to his name under different labels worldwide.  He has also released with his project band M.O.M and recently started the Near Moon project

He is the founder and A&R of Revolt Records,  a record label today that evolved from Volt, a brand responsible for some of the biggest and most memorable underground electronic music warehouse parties and after-hours in Atlanta at the time. Munir has played in all the major clubs of Atlanta and in clubs and festivals all over the south east of the U.S.

In 2015 Munir moved back to Colombia and currently continues to work diligently on new material for future releases. He has a live act with fellow musician Kamal and together they have performed in Bogota and Medellin with Radionica for Franja Electronica and Loop 48 respectively. As a  DJ he has also headlined on numerous occasions at Victoria Club considered the top disco of Barranquilla and Octava considered one of the best clubs in Colombia. He has also played on a numerous occasions at the biggest festival in the city Electronic Art Festival.
