But this mix I’m posting was recorded 3 months after I played so it is not a live recording. When playing this live I also had the goat Kaisan T on mic duty’s 🖤

John Noor, better known as Noorcotics, is a 23 year-old DJ who has been passionately refining his craft for the past six years. With a reputation for spinning a dynamic and unpredictable selection of tracks, DJ Noorcotics keeps his audiences engaged and eager for more. Primarily a junglist, his sets traverse the entire drum and bass spectrum, from dark minimal tracks to uplifting anthems. He also delves into funky forest sounds, trance, 4x4 beats, and dark 140 dubstep/grime riddims, showcasing his versatility.

Based in Cheltenham, DJ Noorcotics has made his mark in various cities including Bristol, Gloucester, Manchester, and Cardiff, becoming a well-known name in his hometown. He holds residencies with the local online radio show Pirate Sessions on Krush FM, and appears on Everyday Junglist online show. Also teamed up with the event company Blurred DnB. His festival appearances include performances at Witcombe Festival, Chalfest, AJAM, and El Dorado Festival. Also making his debut International Performance, in the lovely country of Malta for Colour Clash (Colour International).

DJ Noorcotics has shared stages with some of the biggest names in the industry, including GOLDIE, HAZARD, A.M.C, BLADERUNNER, ZERO, BENNY L, SERUM, ARIES, ED SOLO, BRYAN G, SCUFFED, MPH, NEEFA-T, and STRATEGY, among many others. His eclectic taste and ability to seamlessly blend the tracks he adores make him a standout talent in the jungle drum and bass scene.

NOORCOTICS:

NOOR: This part of the name is inspired by the Persian/Arabic name "Noor" (which is also my surname shortened) which means "light" or "brightness". It could also be interpreted as "noir" meaning "black" in French, which suggest a contrast or combination of light and dark elements.

COTICS: This suffix doesn't seem to have a direct meaning, but is a play on the word "narcotics”, which refers to drugs. It suggest something potent, addictive, or intoxicating in the context of music.

Combining these parts, NOORCOTICS can be interpreted as a juxtaposition of light and dark or as something bright and captivating with an edge or hint of intensity, similar to the effects of narcotics but in a musical context.
