(FR) - OnYi est d'abord né de la collaboration entre l'artiste NxQuantize et le label marseillais Omakase Recordings. Cet album, d’une richesse narrative et sonore éblouissante, se distingue par une fusion de genres, combinant sonorités urbaines et cinématographiques, néo-jazz rythmé et électronique enveloppante, enrichi par l'utilisation d'instruments organiques, de boites à rythme et de synthétiseurs. Il comporte une pléthore d'invités de qualité issus d'univers différents, dont le rappeur new-yorkais Dark Skinned Assassin, la chanteuse franco-britannique Appolonie et le rappeur GREMS. Les sources d'inspiration d'Onyi oscillent entre différents artistes tels que Bonobo, Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders, Djrum, Bonobo ou encore Daniel San. 

Le terme "OnYi", néologisme de l'artiste, signifie "être dans le vide", en écho à l'exploration des mystères de l'univers et des limites de notre existence. 

L'album est une contemplation de la nature et de l'espace, où la musique crée un silence qui donne vie à tout ce qui nous entoure. 


(EN) - OnYi is the result of a collaboration between the artist NxQuantize and the Marseilles-based label Omakase Recordings. This album, with its captivating wealth of narrative and sound, is characterized by a fusion of genres, combining urban and cinematic sounds, rhythmic neo-jazz, and enveloping electronica, enriched by the use of organic instruments, drum machines, and synthesizers. It features a plethora of high-quality guests from different worlds, including the New York rapper Dark Skinned Assassin, the Franco-British singer Appolonie, and the rapper GREMS. OnYi takes inspiration from artists such as Bonobo, Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders, Djrum, Bonobo, and Daniel San. 

The term 'OnYi', a neologism coined by the artist, means 'to be in the void', reflecting his exploration of the mysteries of the universe and the limits of our existence. 

The album is a contemplation of nature and space, with the music creating a silence that gives life to everything around us.

Through a skillful fusion of genres such as jungle, rave, breakbeat, and even elements of R&B/ soulful vibes, the EP’s five tracks reveal themselves as both unique and complementary, offering a personal and panoramic vision of the artist’s club culture. FR) _ Deux ans après la sortie de leur première compilation, le label Omakase, chapeautée par Goldie B et Kumanope, signe un retour vibrant avec « Omakase Colors Vol. 2 », consolidant davantage leur réputation d'explorateurs de l'éclectisme sonore. 

Ce nouveau projet réunit tant des visages familiers de leur catalogue, parmi lesquels NxQuantize, Emahix, P. Real et Albertas, déjà présents dans le premier volume, que de jolis noms de la scène émergente made in France, comme la très talentueuse Violet Indigo, les producteur-ices HI ROSIE, Tom Manzarek, RAVL, Karlita et Gipsyan, ou encore Zapp-Ared et le dynamique quatuor néo jazz Angles Morts. 

A l’instar de son prédécesseur, ce deuxième volume explore avec audace un spectre musical large allant de l'ambiant au broken beat, en passant par le trip-hop, la bass, le downtempo ou encore la liquid jungle, et incarne la vitalité de la scène électronique moderne, foisonnante de textures et d'influences, tout en osant l’expérimentations dans la fusion des genres.

(EN) _ Two years after the release of their first compilation, the Omakase Recordings team, led by Goldie B and Kumanope, returns with a vibrant comeback in "Omakase Colors Vol. 2," further solidifying their reputation as sonic explorers. 

This new project brings together both familiar faces from their catalog, including NxQuantize, Emahix, P Real, and Albertas, who were already present in the first volume, as well as some exciting names from the emerging French scene. Among them, you'll find the highly talented Violet Indigo, producers HI ROSIE, Tom Manzarek, RAVL, Karlita, and Gipsyan, as well as Zapp-Ared and the dynamic neo-jazz quartet Angles Morts.

@Appolonie , one of La Cité Phocéenne's finest vocalists, unveils her latest EP, Red Silk, set for release on June 19. Trained at London's Guildhall School, the Franco-British artist effortlessly blends new soul, R&B, and jazz, drawing inspiration from icons such as Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, and FKA Twigs. Her distinct voice and heartfelt compositions reflect the depth and diversity of her musical influences.

With Red Silk, Appolonie moves from the rich jazz harmonies of her previous albums to a more urban sound, collaborating with hip-hop and electronic producers D'Monk (@monksdreem) and @Creestal. This evolution reflects a subtle fusion of genres, while remaining true to the singer's authenticity and current trends.

Appolonie, chanteuse franco-britannique basée à Marseille, signe son retour avec le single « Rain », extrait de son nouvel EP à paraitre très prochainement. Un morceau Rnb/Soul, minimaliste et élégant, à la fois moite et aérien, sensuel et groovy, sur lequel l’artiste nous cueille de sa voix de velours. Le timbre, le souffle, la retenue, la sobriété... C’est une fois de plus avec une grande maîtrise de son instrument que la chanteuse nous invite à plonger dans son univers aussi sulfureux que délicat. Côté production, on retrouve nul autre que D’monk , le talentueux producteur et musicien londonien qu’on a récemment vu sur scène au côté de Flying Lotus et MNDSGN.. Rien que ça ! Une pure pépite musicale donc, qui nous parle d’amour tout nous faisant hocher de la tete voir danser, à écouter en boucle avant la sortie très attendue de l’EP au début de l’été.
