Annulus is Ryu Yoshizawa’s third release on Orange Milk as Koeosaeme. His 2019 LP Obanikeshi was a barrage of high resolution abstract compositions, and Annulus picks up from there, refining the style and adding an extra layer of inspiration from the Southeast Asian folk music of Burma, Thailand, China, etc. He inserts music concrete with silky repetition, making you feel as if you are walking through parts of Asia, contemplating experimental music. Annulus is peaceful, melodic, atonal, and flows together as one big piece. Part 1 of the record is concrete music, and Part 2 is described as abstract music. It is distinctly Japanese despite other western influences like Steve Reich and Jon Hassle; music meant for a documentary that will be made in the distant future. Annulus features collaborations with Hidekazu Sakamoto, Seth Graham, and LXV.

Koeosaeme is Ryu Yoshizawa. From 2004, he has been a member of the sound artists group “OFFICE INTENZIO” under Yellow Magic Orchestra’s Yukihiro Takahashi. In addition, he is in charge of live event backup support and recordings for Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yukihiro Takahashi, Kyoka and many others. He also produces music commercially for Lotte and Square Enix.

NTsKi is a Kyoto-based artist, musician. She began making music while living in the UK and began working in earnest in 2017 after returning to Japan. She works seamlessly to create tracks with gentle but somewhat eerie vocals and a mixture of diverse musicality. In 2021, she was selected by Bijutsu Techo as one of the newcomer artists who will open up the 2020s. Her collaboration with 7FO, released through EM Records, was selected as one of the best of the year by Shintaro Sakamoto. In addition to her self-produced works, she has participated in the works of Giant Claw, CVN, Shokuhin Matsuri a.k.a foodman, Dengaryu, KM, etc., and has released through overseas labels including TAR and Orange Milk. Also, she has contributed music to the Japan Pavilion hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry at SXSW 2019, where Yoichi Ochiai was the general director, virtual singer te'resa, and an Australian bag brand. On August 6th, 2021, her debut album "Orca" will be released via Orange Milk / EM Records.

Warsaw’s Julek Ploski presents a new album Hotel **** . A cinematic collection that shows a hybridity between baroque composition and electronic production, Hotel ****  balances a strident melancholic sense of hardcore urgency with delicate fairytale affect. Though rarely veering into direct dance music, the album uses those crescendo-based tropes to narrative ends, creating spellbinding and dynamic movements of electronic music. Both ornate and dysphoric, the album transposes a kind of hyperreal iron-age orchestral folklore into a bombed out digital sci-fi wasteland; a symphony of shattered mythic motifs being bit-warped on the last harddrive in the fallout shelter.

Nico Niquo - In A Silent Way

Nico Niquo returns to Orange Milk with the synthetic ambient masterpiece In A Silent Way. The work contains slowly evolving compositions and sound meditations based around the palette of modern grime music minus the percussion. In the songs “Arbo Arco” and “He Loved Him Madly” the grime theme is most present, with droplets of synth and bass rising and melting to suggest invisible kick drums underneath. “Rendered” and “In A Silent Way” begin with simple arpeggios that build to intense climaxes, while closing track “Aa-m” is an almost ASMR-inducing meditation.

Music makers known as Daytime Television and Teams join up to form Teamm Jordann. We're excited to present their record, Champion, on Orange Milk. I keep saying that I'm not exactly sure what is sampled and what's performed on the album, which is part of what makes it so exciting. What I do know is that it bangs pretty hard, is super catchy, and puts an emphasis on editing, chopping, and screwing. If you've seen the video for "Stadium" (https://vimeo.com/26452463) then you have a decent idea of what you're getting into: the sounds of a pixelated digital screen within a screen, a beach run against a DX-7, Michael Jordan dunking.
