Discipline is the result of three years of musical self-reflection, experimentation, and solitary days in my countryside studio. Many choices and sacrifices were made, resulting in 11 tracks that are all very different in color, but follow a precise pattern. My daily struggle with discipline has at least allowed me to achieve one thing: creating the album that I am most proud of today. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do 🖤

“You Don’t Ignore (Too Late)” is an eruption of colors and warmth. I love how it’s simple but still very different from what I’ve made before. I always wanted to bring a kind of RnB/funk vibe on some of my songs. Finding my vocal style was ultimately the key in finding this sound. I never set myself any challenges (let alone time constraints) when it comes to composing, but when Maxime called me to create a track in 24 hours and then play it the next day at a festival, I immediately loved the idea. We had a lot of fun in the studio and on stage. Thanks Maxime!

Wake Up est un morceau en collaboration avec Bipolar Sunshine. Nous avions pensé ce morceau comme une vague de fraicheur pop teinté d'un groove électronique, où les paroles sombres et révoltés viennent contredire cette joie inscrite dans la mélodie. 

The collaboration with Bipolar Sunshine and Cautious Clay on Wake Up was a blast. We created this track as a fresh wave of pop with a ting of electronic groove, where the raw and rebellious lyrics contradict the happiness inscribed in the melody.

Cautious Clay: The inspiration for "Wake Up" came from being caught up in uninspired situations lacking purpose or vision and needing to reconcile with that.

Petit Biscuit: 
"This track has been in the making for a year now, and at first I used it as an outlet to release some energy, screaming into the microphone. One of my initial recordings made it into the track, that siren sounding shout at the beginning. That's in part why it's called "Suffer", composing it helped me get over some painful moments. At some point it thought it would be better with some quality vocals, and so I asked singer SKOTT to try something with it. I loved her music before that, and what she sent immediately felt right.  Because of the distance (she is based in Sweden), we couldn't meet during the production, but she understood the vibe of the track perfeclty, with her lyrics being about loneliness and despair. The melodies she sings also communicates the lonely and weird atmosphere of the track."

Skott: 
“When I heard that Petit Biscuit wanted to try something together I got really intrigued, he’s such an interesting artist with a lot of idea and edge to his sound. The song we made is pretty playful yet in-your-face song and I had so much fun writing on it. Sometimes when you go through a breakup you get this feeling that you’re unbreakable, even stronger than before. It’s got a bit of that vibe in the lyrics.”

“We first met when Shallou supported me on my first American tour and what I saw on stage was absolutely crazy. Joe is a passionate guy and a nice human being and we became friends. I came to the US in April 2019 for a change of scenery to get some inspiration for my new music and I invited Joe to come to where I was staying to work on some music together. We spent hours listening to a lot of different stuff and tried lots of different things, but it wasn’t until a few months later that we had finally found the perfect tune to collaborate on.
