He was born in Al Kaa, Lebanon in a desert-like land surrounded by the smell of dry sand, Gypsy people, and a mold of different cultures. Rabih developed a passion for music at a very young age switching between different electronic styles, where finally the slow movements deep sounds, and oriental grooves took over. Minimal Mystic is a new music label. Our purpose is to collect unique audio recordings from many different cultures and traditions of our world in order to combine special “Various Artists Eps” music collections with separate ethnographic subjects and elements of our sound banks. With the aim to experiment with those recordings we’re striving to create special tracks into Downtempo and Midtempo Organic & Minimalistic electronic waveforms. Let’s travel around our world, our past and our future with Minimal Mystic music magic bus.
In our fourth music journey we’ve got amazing recordings by traditional polyphonic groups. The polyphonic song of Epirus is a form of traditional folk polyphony practiced among Albanians, Aromanians, Greeks and formerly among ethnic Macedonians in southern Albania and northwestern Greece. The polyphonic song of Epirus is not to be confused with other varieties of polyphonic singing, such as the yodeling songs of the region of Muotatal, or the Cantu a tenore of Sardinia. Scholars consider it an old tradition, which either originates from the ancient Greek and Thraco-Illyrian era, or the Byzantine era, with influences from Byzantine music. For this journey we’ve invited five quality artists of the Downtempo/Organic-House/Electronica scene to get inspiration and use these recordings in order to come out with their own tracks. The end result is purely magic as we travel from Hungary to Greece and from Morocco to Lebanon with a kaleidoscope of sounds and moods. BΛLΛDI (Balint Boldizsar), Haris Kate, Jeronimo Karpouzakis, Orkidz and Rabih Rizk are the pilots for this amazing journey into past, present and future by Minimal Mystic Records. Dig deep and you’ll find a world of mysticism, contradictions and pure, crystal clear beautiful sounds!

Sometimes we forget to count and have to remember ourselves how many compilations we have released in the last 3 years. We can't believe it, but we're super proud to be able to present down.tape 7 to you. Yes, you read that right, number 7.

As always, we invited our current favorite artists to be there. Of course, this does not include those who have already been part of an earlier compilation. It's really nice to see how fast the scene is growing and new interesting musicians are entering the stage. Without them it would not be possible to create such beautiful and varied releases.

This time we're going into a diverse direction, hoping the dancefloors will glow. You can expect 17 tracks, all of which were produced with a lot of passion and heart. We have a feeling this could be our favorite down.tape to date. A big thank you goes out to the various artists, our artwork master Kilian Van De Water and to Haunted Water for the great mastering. We hope you enjoy this as much as we do!

Rabih Rizk is a Lebanese artist who blends dramatic percussion with mystical synths and soothing melodies to create tracks that are perfect for the dance floor. This is his second time releasing on Baikal Nomads and his music can also be heard on other scene-leading labels such as Magician On Duty, Heimlich Musik and Pipe & Pochet.

On remix duty, Dario Klein is an up-and-coming producer from Germany who is known for his synth laden style of organic deep house and releases on the likes of Ritter Butzke Records, Abracadabra Music and Bar 25.

Matija and Richard Elcox are a pair of German artists who regularly collaborate on tracks and remixes for labels such as Cosmic Awakenings, Shango Records, Kosa and Camel Riders. They are also talented solo producers who are well-known for their mystical sound that blends chugging grooves with psychedelic atmosphere.

"Baraka" is first of the two original tracks and it's downtempo with spiralling delays of trippy percussion and moody pads. The jerking percussion rhythms, stabbing synths and chanting vocals give a marching vibe to the groove.

"Come With Me" has jerking rhythms and quirky synth lines that layered with trippy vocal phrases, create a jovial groove, forming the foundation for mystic pads that add to the track's hallucinogenic atmosphere.

Dario Klein’s remix of "Baraka" lifts the tempo and adds new percussion to create a flowing groove orientated around the original's pads and trippy percussion. He also adds some sun-drenched guitar licks and pulsating acid bassline to make the track his own.

Matija and Richard Elcox's remix of "Come With Me" is a stripped back version built around the original's stabbing vocals with new percussion and a rubbery bassline.
