Following their mentorship with EQ50 and RAM Records, which saw them fall under the guise of the label’s management team and stand as the very first RAM EQ50 mentee signed through their scheme, Mandidextrous continues to be a pioneering force within dance music through the imprint’s sister-label ProgRAM. Helping to engineer fresh genres including Jungletek, Raggatek and Speedbass, they infuse their creations to explore drum & bass through ProgRAM although it's their own approach to music creation which has made this so successful. ‘Techno On My Mind’ and ‘Move Faster’ shows Mandi’s versatility on full display and it introduces the producer to a brand-new audience. One they'll be sure to capture instantly as part of their growing fan base, something which has been seen at Mandi's packed-out gigs throughout the summer.

Recently being interviewed by the BBC about influencing and educating people through their music ‘on what it’s like to be transgender or to be queer’, Mandi was also the first ever transgender artist to write the closing ceremony tracks for renowned festival Boomtown in 2019, a massive feat. Mandi has used music to create space and change attitudes within the rave scene like a springboard, something which RAM is proud to provide a platform for too.

Featuring long-time collaborator and Bristol native Bish, ‘Techno On My Mind’ is a force to be reckoned with, building on top of a steppy half-time intro, a fist pumping first drop and smashing drum & bass breaks. And already receiving spins from Jaguar on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio Introducing through their guest mix, ‘Move Faster’ sits on the reverse, pounding with energy, with Mandi adding their own flavour amongst classic drum & bass signatures. So once again, it’s time to get with the ProgRAM. One which creates its own paradigms with the help of its roster.

From the depths of music’s murkiest waters, AUDIO is back and bigger than ever. Pumping those bass heavy dumbbells and effortlessly reigning over the realm he helped to shape, prepare yourself for a musical excursion like no other.
The union between RAM and AUDIO sent reverberations throughout the community. Having already thrown hard-hitting punches with his first release on the imprint, it’s now time for another full-frontal assault. 
The opening credits roll out like a musical blockbuster, with those first few jabs sending you reeling in suspense. ‘Nil By Mouth’ is snappy, aggressive and builds tentatively, with an imposing drop which leaves a lasting impact. There’s an endless stream of hard-hitting bass notes, cutting deeper and deeper into the mix until its intimidating composition is exposed. The structure is then diced up by an elevating drum pattern, leading you into meticulously crafted anarchy. AUDIO smashes you head first through a glass prototype, leaving you to bear the brunt of his production. 
Next up, we’re introduced to the mechanical drill of ‘Ultron’. The first few booms pushes the intro forward at an alarming pace, accelerating as the gears are audibly shifted. Measured, yet proving to be unstoppable and flying forward aboard one pounding rhythm, expect no less from the guy who brought you ‘Heads Up’ and ‘Stampede’. Ending with a final snap of breakbeat, you’re left to bask in a record that detonates with outstanding power. 
Following on from these dance floor destroyers, is aptly named ‘Break It’.  On first listen, stay away from anything fragile. Winding up with the same tell-tale aggressiveness which his production style is renowned for, he manoeuvres last minute into unfamiliar territories.  Bouncing between bars with a war-cry like vocal sample, AUDIO pulls you in and keeps you there… another shining example of AUDIO’s ability to produce game changing, contemporary drum and bass. 
Wrapping up this sonic assault is ‘Gotham’. As dark and brooding as the famed city itself, find yourself lead through a stepping, precise construction of beats. Unforgiving, weighty pads guide a steppy riddim into undiluted madness. This completely envelops the musical environment and it’s difficult not to blown away by the conundrum of quick witted instrumentation that snap, crack and smack with every break. 
Featuring next level cuts from a man who stands at the genre’s forefront, it’s time to let the music talk. And it’ll stand as one of the dnb population’s most lasting conversation for a while.

We reach another milestone with the highly anticipated, most talked about release of the year, RAMM100. 

To celebrate the release, we're offering something rather special to our loyal followers; the chance to own four tracks that have been rinsed in raves for up to half a decade, but have never previously been available to buy.

Sub Focus’ ‘Stomp’ has had more dance floors jumping than most ravers have had hot dinners since  Andy C started dropping it over two years ago. Internet message boards have been ablaze since as eager fans digitally waxed lyrical about its crisp beats, booming bass and cheeky vocal sample.

Taken from ‘Nightlife 4’, ‘Machine’ by Culture Shock is a grinding, futuristic slice of electro-driven D&amp;B that’s been top of people’s wishlists since 2008. Even now, three years later, the skills of Culture Shock makes this heavyweight track sound as relevant as it did then and is a very warm welcome addition to Ram’s vinyl catalogue.

The C side is Andy C’s side as ‘Finders Keepers’ finally gets an official release. Anyone who hung around Ram’s label nights at The End or has a copy of ‘Nightlife 3’ stashed somewhere will surely remember this one and its infectious lead riff.

Finally Noisia’s 2007 take on Ram Trilogy’s classic ‘No Reality’ rounds off this EP in fine style. Easily one of the most requested Ram tracks that never made it to release, this will undoubtedly have the forums firing on all cylinders in anticipation.

The name Legion & Logam has resonated since their first output on the Program imprint. With vocal roller ‘House of Cards’ being picked up by some of the dance world’s leading tastemakers, it saw the production trio ascend to a very critical point in their career. And the glass ceiling has been broken; it was only apt for such rising stalwarts to be given the monumental 25th release in the label’s discography.

‘Holding On’ and ‘Afterthought’ also follow their exclusive signing to Ram Records, the sister label who engendered Program and who’ve stood the test of time. Although, it was only a matter of time before the artists were taken in by a label of that calibre.

You’re taken into A-side ‘Holding on’ by the soulful talent of Micah Freeman, guiding you through its beautiful note arpeggios and clicking percussion. Weaving amongst the atmospheric strum of guitar and climatic synth, it’s perfectly refined and demonstrates exactly why they were exclusively signed to the Ram imprint.

Following on in quick procession is ‘Afterthought’. Pounding against an ethereal, humanistic sample, there’s an underlay of subs which slowly builds and brays between breaks. They masterfully combine impact with a tightly woven composition; fiercely intricate yet without lacking substance, it pedestals the experience which each party brings to the table.

So, here’s to another release which sees Legion & Logam firmly on the radar for years to come. Their talent was already unbridled. However, combining this with one of the biggest and most revered drum & bass labels across the globe, they’re sure to become unstoppable.

The first two singles taken from Calyx & TeeBee’s forthcoming album ‘All Or Nothing’ have been heavily supported by tastemakers across the board. Mind Vortex are back! And they’re back with a vengeance… This duo have pulled it out the bag again and are ready to dent 2013.

Their new release ‘Alive/Arc’ is a game of two wholly different sides. Mind Vortex showcase their enviable range of skills: perfectly executed song-based composition AND outrageously huge, speaker splintering bass bombs.

‘Alive’ is up first. Striking up with a star-glazed synth and string hook that rises exponentially, we’re soon dropped into crisp guitar hooks and smooth vocals. As the synths and heated kicks re-join the mix, it’s instant anthem time with plenty of opportunities to raise a lighter or two. As the vibrant hook gets heavier and the song develops, we find the bass becoming more textured, bursting with dynamics and true sense of sonic sentiment.

Next up, ‘Arc’: A quintessential rave hustler, it opens with rich warm rush-worthy chords softly coerced you into a false sense of arm waving euphoria. This tune has such a beautiful emotion-caked intro and then BANG!: in they come with one of the most powerful pay-offs we’ve heard for ages. A murder of basslines vie for your attention; ducking and diving and weaving and bobbing among each other, each one as brutish as the next. From spine-melting electro-soul to turbo-charged bass shock-out at the flip of a switch, it’s production techniques like this that attracted Mind Vortex to us in the first place.

This release has two stunningly different vibes from one of the most exciting partnerships in drum & bass… With support from the likes of Andy C, Mistajam, Grooverider, Bailey, Crissy Criss, DJ Hype and Drumsound, the doors to the Mind Vortex fan club are well and truly open. ‘Take You Higher’… it’s a promise all DJs make each and every time they set foot behind the decks. No matter what genre, style or flavour, the dark art of elevation is THE core premise of all electronic music. It’s the holy grail of dancefloor science… And Wilkinson has been studying it for years.

Living up to his promise, ‘Take You Higher’ is an instant turbo boost for all corners of the dance. Igniting with a half step so emotive you can imagine a boxer walking down to the ring to its hype-fuelled strut, we’re soon dropped into a climactic synth hook, quintessential rave vocal and surging well-bodied power-bass. 

So sharp it can shave a man from fifty paces, so euphoric it can instigate a spine-tingle from fifty miles, ‘Take You Higher’ is soaked in undiluted drama that’s specifically designed to drive your crowd well beyond the all-important ‘next level’.  

Always keen to paint a full picture across his releases, Wilkinson’s also served up ‘Crunch’. A darker, more driving slab of drum & bass, ‘Crunch’ thrusts with a sneering, searing bassline and just the perfect amount of synth-aided uplift. Armed with one of the most electric build ups he’s done to date, it’s yet another example of Wilkinson’s ability to take the dancefloor to places so high they didn’t even know they existed. 

Both ‘Take You Higher’ and ‘Crunch’ act as a promising tease for Wilkinson’s forthcoming debut album. Due for release later this year, it’s set to showcase the rich vein of form the young producer is hitting at the moment. And there’s more…  

Proof, if it’s needed, that the art of taking you higher is essential in all genres, Ram Records have complemented Wilkinson’s breath-taking original with two spectacular remixes. First up, the fast-rising future bass merchant Jakwob:  fusing the finest aspects of garage and underground house, he’s dropped the tempo but paid maximum respect to the theatrical character of the original. With a crisp array of infectious percussive elements and the perfect dosage of minor-key sobriety, it’s fuelled by so much emotion it might just take you too high! 

Next up: Foamo. With a repertoire that includes on-point house labels such as Moda and Skint, he’s been fuelling generation bass with unpredictable slices of dancefloor dynamite since 2008. Lounging in low-end luxury, his debut remix for Ram Records pays homage to years of London house heritage; shuffling with a gorgeous chugging groove and a slight nod to the deeper shades of speed garage movement, like the original, this will sing to many different DJs… Each one of them looking to live up to their promise: taking you higher!

Lighters at the ready… Things are about to get emotional. 

Loadstar have delivered the next single from their forthcoming album ‘Future Perfect’ and it’s an absolute stone-cold vocal stunner. Fronted by the emphatic, emotion-rich vocals of Takura Tendayi, powered by pummelling live drum energy, guided by a relentless, chugging riff and polished by crisp piano twinkles, ‘Refuse To Love’ is, without argument, one of the biggest productions Loadstar have composed to date. 

Takura is no stranger to the spotlight; his previous collaborations include Chase & Status, Plan B, Kano, Jack Beats and Example. ‘Refuse To Love’ is one of his most poignant appearances to date; stirring up memories of scorned love, his heartfelt delivery is the perfect tonic to the turbo-powered hook beneath. Set to cause commotion on every stage; from stadiums to underground dancehalls, airwaves to headphones, it’s the perfect unity of sterling song writing and rugged, behemoth studio mastery.

Remix-wise Ram Records have handpicked two of the most exciting names to have emerged in bass music recently. Bristol bass gunmen My Nu Leng step up with a rendition that tips a timeless nod at electronic music’s rich heritage. Jacking with a classic house feel but groaning with raw contemporary bass techniques it’s the perfect balance of vibes that will find home across myriad genre playlists. 

Bobby Tank follows, and instantly takes the tempo down further to a slow n’ sleazy 110bpm. Fusing the best elements of trap and glitch, it’s a diced and spliced version that pays full respect to the emotions of the original while subverting them with the utmost funk and creativity. 

Finally we hit ‘Flight’. A deeper escapade into the duo’s deeper side, it’s Loadstar at their most subtle and understated. Complete with a swooning bassline that ebbs and flows delicately against trippy reversed loops and fluttering elements, the full focus is on the simple-but-deadly groove. A quintessential roller that builds so gradually you won’t even notice, it’s the ideal tonic for the emotional power-punch of ‘Refuse To Love’ 

An emotional roller coaster with added bass gravitas, not only is this Loadstar’s biggest release to date, it’s also an exciting taster of what’s to come on their album ‘Future Perfect’. Make no mistakes, these guys are truly taking no prisoners this summer!
