Repitch Recordings welcomes VTSS to its ranks. The Polish DJ and producer (real name Martyna Maja) being a proud alumn of Warsaw’s Brutaz clubnight and Jasna1 club (as well as one of Discwoman’s most recent acquisitions), it is no wonder her style overflows with dark energy and tenacious ravey vibes. Her Repitch debut channels this same ardor into four heavy-hitting bangers that serve as sonic power conductors and ecstatic stamina enhancers. The industrialized pounding of her drum sounds is always accompanied by a taste for reimagining the classic vestiges of techno, rave and even hardcore: from hoover sounds and sampled vocal refrains to classic Berlin- style staccato synth pulses. Her approach is though far from just piling a set of tokenized references, and the raw urgency that fuels her creative energy keeps her production as fresh as her behind-the-decks manifestations.

Andrew Bowen & Dimitri Poumplidis, better known to the public as AnD, had accompanied REPITCH Recordings through its early stages of existence. Their two previous offerings for the Berlin-based label came respectively in 2012 and 2014, acting as cornerstones for Repitch, marking crucial points in the evolution and definition of its sound. It is only now, after a 6-year absence from the RR catalog, that the duo makes its return with ‘Beast Mode’, a five-tracker that shows no sign of giving way to softer or less energetic sounds. These are bangers: nothing more and nothing less than rave-ready, hard-thumping, bass-blasting club stompers. Ever championing of the hardest side of techno, AnD have prepared a pack of non-compromising menaces to quiet, capable of making the floor quake by means of pure, unadulterated four-to-the-floor thickness and synthetic stabbing power. This kind of attitude led them to form many kinships with similarly minded DJs and producers, the latest of which is hardcore maestro Alberto Guerrini AKA Gabber Eleganza, who turned ‘Emergency Procedures’ into an even harder affair, driving the mix into the red and turning the beat into a freakishly crippled juggernaut.

Back in 2011, the REPITCH label debuted with "REPITCH 000", a brief compilation that featured tracks from the three originators: Pasquale Ascione (Ascion), Davide Carbone (D. Carbone), Nino Pedone (Shapednoise). Since then, the imprint has been a key player on techno's experimental fringes, pushing music that joins the dots between industrial, noise, bass, and hard dance. In ten years, they've released music from artists like Sote, Zenker Brothers, AnD, Sleeparchive, Regis, and VTSS, and to celebrate their anniversary, REPITCH has fittingly assembled another forward-thinking selection of tracks following on from 2017's acclaimed "Dys Functional Electronic Music."

Ten years in, the trio are just as motivated by broadening club music's horizons as they are filling dancefloors, and that's never more obvious than on opening track 'Mastice Riddim (VIP Mix)' from Shapednoise and Gabber Eleganza. The two producers meet at the exact intersection of their styles, with Pedone splitting Alberto Guerrini's fictile trance arpeggios using his patented hi- definition sound design and trunk-rattling drill rhythms.

TSVI and Randomer excavate a similar mid-point on 'Overbite,' following on from 2021's "Reflex" EP with a booming, mindboggling fusion of warehouse techno and cybernetic dancehall. Pasquale Ascione's contribution 'Plugged (Heavy- Rotation Mix)' is a disarming future-retro cut, distorting vintage breaks with psychedelic bleep techno synths, while Carbone's 'Hypnotic Experimental Dance' does precisely what it promises, blotting grinding hardstyle kicks into dissonant waves of psychedelic electronics. Los Angeles ravers Baseck and Aura T-09 throw shades over the Cali sunshine on 'Angelz', losing gabber rhythms in tweaked DSP fizz but never dropping the crucial momentum.

On the flip side, Italian mainstay DJ Plant Texture turns in a breakbeat slow- burner that sounds like Sheffield via Rotterdam but never dips into empty nostalgia. Russia's versatile Buttechno, meanwhile, brings a weightless sensibility to progressive minimal, layering cauterized harmonics over driving warehouse kicks and dreaming gently of the big room. The compilation switches gears at this point, centering a pair of rave-ready hard dance constructions from fwd-thinking Greek producers DJ Loser and MarcelDune, before grinding to a halt on sci-fi-tinged closer 'Digital Hoarder' from Low Income $quad's Strahinja Arbutina.

We meet a new project, cool, and damn techno. Design concept and sounds that rather than being projected towards Europe, appear to come from Europe, more precisely from somewhere dark and cold in the north of the continent. But no! The minds that conceived the project are all Italian and lie along a line connecting cities like Palermo and Naples,at least for the moment. Because as you might expect from the country’s “brain drain”, the imaginary line will continue soon on his way to the last stage: Berlin, the capital of the electronic scene. We are talking about Ascion, D. Carbone and Shapednoise. They are already well-known artists .. already appeared on several major labels in the field and played by the best djs and producers.A dark graphics without compromise! A dark and heavily industrial sound takes the listener on a journey made of metallurgical plants and hypnotic post-apocalyptic scenario,the result is devastating. The releases, starting with the first (which will appear in the catalog as “000”), will be all vinyl. 
On side A, there is only one track signed by Ascion. A train sound that travels through dark landscapes, narrow and foggy. During the journey of reverb, effects and a drum without compromise… a bass line tries to communicate directly from the darkness, that is all around us. Side B opens with the track signed by D. Carbone . This time the train goes directly into the darkness ..sounds of the whip show that the punishment for those who listen will be heavy; pauses to give breath .. but there isnt time for mercy. Side B ends with the track signed by Shapednoise and now the train fell into nothingness! As a clock, the heavy rhythmic “breaks” marks the final minutes of a trip ..definitely ended up in the darkest part of the planet. The dark forces have taken over.

Belgian industrial techno pioneer Hypnoskull’s album “ffwd>burnout”, the label has compiled a fresh selection from the 1999 milestone and now pressed it for the first time on vinyl. The aim is to introduce its grinding breakbeats, its blasting hyperbolic groove, and ferocious disturbance to a new generation, championing an undying enthusiasm for heavy and deconstructed club sounds. Moreover, the EP comes with an exclusive remix by Birmingham Master Surgeon, whose own militancy in hard-edged techno has contributed to his legendary status, reuniting a different yet somewhat similar vision of dancefloor experimentation. It also includes an updated version of Hypnoskull’s manifesto, renewing his methods of cultural resistance.

This time around, the label welcomes french veteran and New Flesh / Rave Or Die founder Umwelt, sharing the platter with Canada-born Berlin-based young master Ryan James Ford. Led by their mutual love for saturated analog percussions, massive kick drums, and relentless beats, the two producers find common ground while retaining their respective distinctive approaches. Umwelt’s much more electro-oriented excursions style relentlessly acidic basslines alongside epic synth pads and distorted polyrhythms, while Ford’s side connects flows more down the stream of contemporary techno, deep and drone-laden as it is.

This kind of attitude led them to form many kinships with similarly minded DJs and producers, the latest of which is hardcore maestro Alberto Guerrini AKA Gabber Eleganza, who turned ‘Emergency Procedures’ into an even harder affair, driving the mix into the red and turning the beat into a freakishly crippled juggernaut.

Athenian producer, MarcelDune seems unwavering in her progression. Having somewhat of a moment this year with her 'Trnc' EP, put out via DJ Plead and SOPHIE's SUMAC records, she continues this momentum with her 'Preternatural' EP; forthcoming via Berlin-based label REPITCH Recordings. 

A collection of unbending hard dance drivers, the raw essence of MarcelDune's production methods come through in differing forms track by track. Heavy with field recordings and modular synth work, the package is playful and sassy, brimming with defiant vocal samples and rhythmic U-turns. 

'It's Okay To Have No Fun' is an out-and-out trance banger, pairing ravey synths and angelic high ranges with a rumbling low-end and snappy snares.
