After 6 years of blurring boundaries across the dance music spectrum at great venues including Corsica Studios and the summer boat parties, Socialeyes bring you some of the most exciting and open minded artists on the scene playing across two rooms (no short dj sets here). 

Socialeyes is very excited to welcome the unique and innovative sounds of Boddika who is currently flying high with his solo projects and collaborations with Joy O. All round musical style guru and curly haired queen of the London party scene, Hannah Holland also joins the party, followed by two of the hottest breakthrough artists of the moment Teknologi Co-founder and Rinse Fm resident T. Williams and Grote Prijs award winner Presk. They join Socialeyes’s very own musical chameleon Robin Ball.

A snappy 808 drum line and quintessential vocal chops make this an all-round masterful jam for heads down moments in the dance. Robin Ball - Memory Box Label 01 - 03 Mini Mix

Here's a DJ mix I did in 1993. It's part of a series of mixes I'm going to be uploading here and also @memoryboxparties. A look back into what was fresh in the 1990's. On this mix there's some strong influences to what I do at my Memory Box parties today. It's a mix of Acid, techno and a little of what at the time was called progressive house.

A Touch Of Acid (DJ mix, June 1993)

The second in a series of cassette tape DJ mixes I'm uploading from 1993. This mix is mainly European techno that I was playing in London clubs at the time. It's quite Euphoric with squelchy acid undertones.

Imagine: It's late, the club is dark and throbbing. I completely smoke the club out (as I liked to do and you could get away with back then). Everything goes quiet. Then this......

We at Memory Box really love the ethos of the Westival and are waiting eagerly to perform at the next festival (21 - 25 July 2022 in Wales). So ahead of the event we wanted to support in full and give them a bit of an exclusive with the first ever Disco in the House style mix for public airing. Until now we've kept our Disco in the House aural delights exclusively on the London dancefloor.

Robin Ball is a dance music maverick. He’s been DJ’ing and putting on parties since the age of 14 in his own un-conformist style. He’s run independent record labels and a music distribution company, tutored unruly kids in the art of DJ’ing and run a three-piece live dance music group. 

At present he is most known for his @memoryboxparties and @groove-pressure record label and @discointhehouse parties.

In 2017 Memory Box Recordings was born with three releases covering the various styles of music that the parties endorse. All three releases have production input from Robin with support coming from the likes of B.Traits on BBC Radio 1, Danny Tenaglia, Leftfield, Paul Woolford Danny Daze. In July 2019 Robin released on Memory Box Recordings a co-release featuring tracks from both himself and Luke Vibert which received high praise from Francois K, Nina Kraviz, Ben Sims, The Black Madonna, Stacey Pullen, Optimo, Nemone on BBC 6 Music. April 2020 saw the 5th release on Memory Box with a release from Robin called “Sheep Funk” including a peak set techno remix from Saytek and 3 essential mixes from Robin including one under his Robin Beats moniker, a pseudonym he uses for his more abstract techno and breakbeat adventures.  The release is getting strong support from The Black Madonna, Skream, James Zabiela, Tensnake and more.

The Groovepressure label was reborn in 2016, brought back to life by popular demand after a 13-year hiatus, with four successful new releases, remasters and reworkings. Groovepressure was at the forefront of the scene back in the noughties, with support for its breakbeat, tech house, electro, Chicago and Detroit styled releases from big guns Laurent Garnier and the late Andrew Weatherall. The label now is about keeping these influences fresh whilst looking towards the future with new music coming out of Robin’s studio. Recent support has been coming from Gerd, Kiki, Laurent Garnier, Raresh, Sascha Dive, Craig Richards, Stacey Pullen, Mr G, Dave Clarke, Horse Meat Disco, Blackstrobe and many more.  

Over the years as a DJ, Robin has delivered his unique forward-thinking style and mixing prowess to audiences around the world and has played alongside a whole host of dance music’s stars including luminaries Andrew Weatherall and Gilles Peterson to icons Carl Cox and Sasha; Detroit techno legends Kevin Saunderson and Stacey Pullen; UK drum & bass heroes Sub Focus and Dillinja and underground innovators Luke Slater and Underground Resistance. 
Robin has been hard at work in the studio and has a collection of finished tracks that will be coming out over the next year. In addition there are more remixes and DJ sets under his “Robin Beats” alias that has grown from his popular sets at the Memory Box parties where he plays what he calls “the crazy shit”. Watch out also for another new guise – DITH - that is intertwined with the Disco In The House parties.
