This song is 26 years old as of 2023. It was originally recorded in 1997 at the original "Turtle Beach" studio on ADAT equipment, later transferred to hard disk based systems and recently moved to PC-based DAW where it was finally completed.

SlipTown

This is a CD of guitar-oriented music I've recorded over the past 20 years. The tracks cover a lot of ground, jazz, fusion, metal, new age, and a few covers thrown in. 

BIO
Roy Smith has played guitar most of his life, in a wide variety of styles and genres, typically as a session producer and/or musician. During the 80's he worked as a session musician on hit albums from Teddy Pendergrass, Patti Labelle, Lou Rawls, The O'Jays, and the Jones Girls. He has recorded and produced hundreds of projects ranging from demos to a top ten charting song co written with Cynthia Biggs and Dexter Wansel.
Roy co-Founded Turtle Beach Systems with Bob Hoke and helped to create the first hard disk recording system for PCs in 1990. Since leaving Turtle Beach in 1995, Roy has focused on helping startup high tech companies and on writing, producing and recording music at Varuna Studio, his 24 track automated home studio.

The Structured Settlement

I've played guitar and bass most of my life, in a wide variety of styles and genres, typically as a session producer and/or musician. During the 80's I worked in Philadelphia as a session musician on albums by Teddy Pendergrass, Patti Labelle, Lou Rawls, Pieces of a Dream, The O'Jays, and the Jones Girls. I've recorded and produced hundreds of projects ranging from demos to a top ten charting song co written with Cynthia Biggs and Dexter Wansel.  I tend to favor harmonically complex music that's underpinned by great grooves, and I often hear the comment that my music is reminscent of Steely Dan.   For the past 20 years, I've focused on helping startup high tech companies and on writing, producing and recording music at Varuna Studio, my 24 track automated home studio.
