And blurt: “I think it’s working I can feel the wording surging back!”

I’m kinda like a serpent coiled around a traffic cone
Feeling like a riddle, in a nonsequential palindrome
Have I neglected my ambitions, have I been devout?
I eat my breakfast on the balcony and think aloud

 A shortie in a yellow rain hat
Was sitting by the river with her fishing rod and laying back
She hooked an oyster heart from the riverbed
And gave it a name and some love and a cigarette

A couple puffs and the oyster opened up to cough

The heart was bigger than the place the thing was living at
She struck it with her vorpal blade and cracked it with a snicker-snack

With my breakfast done, I toss the crumbs on the lawn
