Future House: a new subgenre within house with fairly new sounds, synths and melodies. Finally being able to dance again, which is a relief when compared to the typical ‘jumping and fistpumping’ EDM. I love it and glad it finally caught on in 2014. Time for more subtle sounds and vocals which go a bit further than ‘putting your f*cking hands up’.

Biggest names within this subgenre in 2014 were Oliver Heldens, Tchami, Mike Mago and The Magician. In retrospect, 2014 was merely the beginning of their popularity. In 2016, they’re even more popular and still expanding their fanbase by releasing high quality releases.

On November 1st 2014, I had to open an indoor party called Pôllepop in Woudsend. I decided to sort of pay hommage to this particular sound. Forgot to press record right from the start, which explains why there’s not really intro. I'm sorry, but I hope you’ll enjoy this mix!

Grote namen als Oliver Heldens, Tchami, Mike Mago en The Magician zijn er nu de wereld mee aan het veroveren. Eindelijk weer tijd voor subtiliteit en vocals met iets meer betekenis.

Slickk Sessions #007 is de live opname van de set waarmee ik op 1 november Pollepop in Woudsend opwarmde.

Vergeten om meteen op record te drukken, dus vandaar het plotselinge begin. Volume op standje 11 en genieten maar :)

Slickk Sessions #010 - Sunset

Op zondagochtend 29 april luisterden we samen naar muziek en gaven Slickk & Lisa, à la Top2000 a gogo, uitleg over de songtekst en de gedachte achter de muziek. Waarom? Omdat het mooi is, en wie weet steek je er ook nog wat van op. Niet te zwaarmoedig maar absoluut indrukwekkend, zelfs zonder hostie. ;) Dit alles vond plaats in het mooiste bouwwerk wat Sint Nyk rijk is: de Heilige Nicolaaskerk. 

Je kunt muziek verwachten van Typhoon, London Grammar, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar en nog vele anderen. We zijn ervan overtuigd dat het zowel jong als oud aanspreekt. Een keer wat anders op de zondagochtend, want waarom ook niet?

An ever-growing love for electronic (dance) music and the need to share this with everyone around him; there is no better motivation to become a DJ. Thanks to the influences of UK house / garage, French melodic electro and unexpected music from other genres he's able to distinguish himself from other house DJs by bringing his refreshing sounds to the dance floor.
