Calgary duo Minor Sine Project puts a crafty spin on "Thalassic" by Befaire, with pulsating layers of delayed percussion and dub techno stabs and a club-friendly, rolling bassline. The Original Mix, which dropped in May 2020 has a rough, lo-fi chunkiness to it, and has been well received by underground DJs and listeners alike.

Just in time to fill your crates for the start of the busy summer season, Affairs Of Honour EP features four fresh singles from the finest techno specialists on the Substation roster. 

All four tunes share a common etheral feeling yet go about it uniquely.

Chordlust starts things off with an immediate peak-time classic "Breach", paying homage to the raw sounds of late 80s synthwave and techno. 

Stripping things back a bit, Drifting.Dubs flexes his incredibly chunky production skills with "Groove #2.5", letting the percussion do the talking and teasing the listener with occasional melodic splashes. 

Any fan of dub techno will no doubt be blown away by Crooka's atmospheric pads on "Odd Reflection", not to mention that thick clubby bassline. 

The GOAT rounds out the release with a warm, warehouse-inspired techno offering that is as dreamy as it is energetic. "Where Do We Go From Here?" - a perfect title for the last track on an EP that showcases a broad and beautiful spectrum of the techno palate.

Rounding out the release Woodhead channels inner freak with the bizarre yet undeniably catchy tune "Telephonic Funk". James Laf is featured on vocals urging the listener to "get your party started", shouldn't be hard to do after listening to this EP.

Woodhead marks his return to Substation with "A Little Number EP" - 3 upbeat summery anthems with hints of disco and plenty of sublime live instrumentation. 

The title track is an easy-listening head-bobber, with harmonizing synths and guitar licks - the type of tune you blast at a backyard party with the sun poking through the trees and smoke sailing in the breeze.

Fellow Canadian producer Honeydripper has been quietly making a name for himself as a world-class deep house producer, with several big time releases in 2020 including "Feel Something" off Substation's Essentials Compilation 1. 

The Honeydripper Remix of "Sixteen Steps" does not disappoint, maintaining much of the darkness and unique rhythms of the Original Mix, but with a jackin house beat and a triplet hi-hat that you can imagine being an exceptional layer to any dance experience.
