SAL (Sonic Abundance & Longevity) is a project dedicated to celebrating and showcasing Pan-Asian arts, music, and culture. Founded in Berlin in 2024, it began as an idea for an annual compilation series to bring together artists we admire from across the globe. Since then, it has quickly expanded into organising events both in Berlin and internationally. 

The theme for the compilation this year is centered around cultural exchange: immersion, dialogue, connection, and curiosity. We aim to help bridge the gap between communities from Asia to Europe and the US; celebrating our diversity and highlighting the confluence of influences shaping our lives. This edition were inviting artists we love across the globe as a vehicle for that cultural exchange.

The Brave New World EP delivers a hypnotic blend of psychedelic and progressive sounds with deep rhythmic explorations, and a standout remix from acclaimed artist Roza Terenzi.

Laden with themes of magic realism and natural mysticism, it explores unseen spaces through layered sound design and atmospheric depth — a meditative yet propulsive journey that blurs the line between the organic and the otherworldly.

Sea Dweller marks Lawrence Lee’s debut release on his A7A label –– a concise, three-track document of pressure and restraint. The EP folds lush synthesis into raw percussive architecture, yielding two direct, high-intensity techno cuts and a closing track, Coil, where floating, asymmetric melodies trace echoes of early Autechre. The record captures a precise tension between motion and atmosphere — a study in controlled energy.

Each physical edition of Sea Dweller is unique: a hand-cut, hand-stamped vinyl limited to 15 copies. The process mirrors the sound — tactile, irregular, and resistant to duplication.

The overarching theme that unites this compilation is the sense of nostalgia surrounding familial and ancestral connections 🪷🏞️. This theme holds a special resonance for many of us—some of whom experience it firsthand through their roots and homelands, while others grasp and feel it through the stories passed down to them. We’ve kept this theme open, allowing each artist the freedom to interpret and incorporate it into their music.

At the heart of SAL is our vibrant and supportive community, and this compilation serves to cultivate and share that sense of togetherness 🤲. We’ve brought together artists from diverse backgrounds across East and Southeast Asia, not only calling on close friends and collaborators but also forging new connections with talented individuals.
