Terra Firma returns to its roots with 2 gorgeous liquid tracks. On the back of his latest release on Stand Together representing Terra Firma we're very excited to welcome yet another label newcomer Shibumi! He opens his account with 2 gorgeous, soulful liquid cuts alongside collaborators Hajimari and George Lunn. 

The B-side 629PM alongside vocalist George Lunn perfectly compliments Morningstar. A vocal-driven liquid track with grooving drums and a smooth bassline. Shibumi does not hold back on showing the world what his signature blend of drum and bass sounds like. Furthermore, George's ethereal vocals shine here and will take you on a journey far beyond the expected. 629PM is one of those tracks that no matter what time of the day you can find a place for it in your playlist.

Kicking off our 2023 catalogue we are to welcome none other than Rift! After featuring on Terra Rising a few years back we're thrilled to have Rift back for his first full release on Terra Firma

Rift kicks things off with Chase The Sun. An atmospheric, mature, and well-balanced piece of music. This track is perfect for both clubs and home listening. The transcendent, wobbly pad has to be our favorite element on this track. It perfectly encapsulates the vibe of this piece. We can undoubtedly imagine chasing down the sun all day with this track on full blast!

On the flip side Rift unleashes Ego Death. A hypnotic roller that's sure to get your body moving. A dark and foreboding tone brings this track to life. Coupled with a melodic, almost haunting vocal sample this track really shows the diversity the Rift brings to the tablet. 

Rift continues to put his stamp onto Drum & Bass. Constantly pushing beyond his own boundaries. We can't wait to see more from Rift!

After impressing with his recent remix of 'White Lies' and original cut 'Speculate', established experimental EDM producer Elliot Berger, also known by his Drum & Bass alias 'Telomic', is once again bringing deep liquid love to Terra Firma, this time with a fluid two-track EP.

Having always had a soft spot for mellow DnB, title track 'Onism' brings attention to just how well Telomic can craft meaningful music in excess of 170BPM. The majestic and inspiring aurora of this track is achieved through a gentle and simplistic approach to production, where every element culminates into the masterpiece that it is.

Terra Firma made a big splash when their first compilation release: Terra Firma Vol: 1. dropped back in May. Fast forward 8 months and it's time for round 2! With 10 artists featured, 8 of them new to the label, this sonically rich compilation is a serious statement of intent from the label. 

We get underaway with the mystical 'No Grudge', a collaboration made with passion from Dutchman Pulsate and his Flemish neighbour Nexus & Tight. This is a song for those long journeys. Terra Firma welcomes another new duo to the label in Nemy & Missing. Their deep, soulful and innovative approach to Drum & Bass is reminiscent of heavyweights Alix Perez and Spectrasoul, and track 'Did to Me' ticks all the boxes for a perfect techy roller. 

Having released on Vol. 1, Ben Downton, aka Low:r, is at it again with another major-key groove-busting anthem. Featuring Carl Petros on vocals, 'Pushing Back the Tide' is instantly uplifting with its warm piano chords. Next up, Terra Firma's very own Matt Horton debuts on the label he set up with Warren Rousseau in 2017. Along with Telomic, the tune entitled 'Ingrained' features a soft bed of engrossing melodic textures with crisp drums and a dynamic bassline on top. 

East-Midlands bass-heads Steven Mitchell & Joshua Gerry debut on the label with what can only be described as a shoe-thrower! The aggressive bassline and super-punchy drums in 'Volvere' utilise space incredibly well and satisfy our Jump-Up cravings. Finally, we have 'Soul Switch', a moody little liquid gem from up-comer Tarz. Here we have a bit of everything, from an oscillating deep bassline, to bouncy drums, and synth stabs in the higher-register. Sophisticated.

Hailing from the city of Nis in Serbia, Djordje Jeremic is a producer who has a soft spot for deep dynamic minimal sounds. Producing Drum & Bass under the name 'Missing' he is turning the heads and ears of bedroom producers, everyday fans of the genre to even professional DJs and prominent figures within the Drum & Bass sphere.

Mistakes EP, is the first solo release on Terra Firma for Missing, having previously collaborated with Nemy with the smooth 'Did To Me'. Here, his clinical production combined with throttled basslines and eerie padded textures results in a transcendent piece of work and a mystical listening experience.

Title track 'Mistakes' sets the tone with floating vocals meandering throughout a dark bed of anticipation. Dynamic percussion and prodding basses are ever-present, as there are in 'No Good', an extension to what is becoming an enveloping mysterious journey. The gearstick gets changed in 'Shaku', we aren't sure whether it's gone up or down a gear, but here a strong rhythm imposes itself courtesy of textbook Missing halftime beats. Last up is 'Not Regular', an emphatic last chapter sending shivers down your spine.

As the temperature starts to drop and the leaves fall off the trees, we are left longing for summer again, but it's ok because Low:r is on hand to bring back the summer memories and warm you up with his golden 2-track, 'Let You In / Reorient'.

Beds of unfolding melodies wrap your senses in warm melancholy that never fades away. Low:r, a producer's producer, yet again surpasses expectation. Through spectacular percussion, perfectly executed samples, rich melodic textures, captivating vocal chops and warm rolling basslines he is able to concoct music that connects to each of us on a personal level. Arguably Low:r's best piece of work, this EP is not something you want to sit on.

New signing @retraktdnb opens his account on Terra Firma with the brutal 2-track 'Scum / Mix It Up'.
Forget subgenres, the man from Nottingham is not one to mess around, this is straight up Drum& Bass that hits hard and you are getting it whether you like it or not.

Featuring @itsharibo on the mic, 'Scum' is an absolute griller. Greasy basses and tribal percussion set
the tone for a dark dingy journey centred around the froth which lives on top of murky water.

Crisp and bouncy drums are at the centre of 'Mix It Up'. If you aren't paying attention you could get caught out by the behemoth-like growls. Full of energy, Retrakt is not for the faint hearted.

Terra Firma is taking a scenic stroll back towards calmer waters. Fresh, organic and vibrant liquid sparks joy and this single from @alexvnderofficial is exactly that, an eyes-closed journey through wispy ambience and classy melancholia.

'The Little Things' packs a delightfully jaunty angle to its percussion, combine that with its hauntingly soft piano touches and you've got a wonderfully textural piece of music. In a scene currently dominated by loud sounds and techy hedonism, Alexvnder and Terra Firma offer something altogether more serene, more relaxed and more retrospective. One for the road.

Terra Firma likes things clean, precise and organic- it’s the ethos of the label and the stylistic grounding of its sound. But, every now and then, something rough and ready comes along which just throws that out of the water, something altogether more heinous.

Courtesy of Manikin, Decapitate and Bumpy aren’t bothered about frills or niceties. Instead, they’re pure, urban-edged steppers which move in a way that’s deeply satisfying and instantly familiar to those passionate about tough, driving Drum & Bass. Decapitate touches on the pulse of D&B’s newly invigorated love for big-boned rollers, with a distorted back end and an eerie sense of progression. Bumpy strips things back down into minimal territory in a growling, ominous collection of broken beats and stripped back force.

Hard-nosed, moody and a bit hungover, Manikin’s new single is one for the heads.
