A feast for the ears this week on Colorize as we bring you three outstanding remixes of track #8 from Dezza's latest album '44° North, 63° West'. 'Won't Let Go' with Lewyn is a highlight album cut with Dezza's classic sound merging superbly with Lewyn's splendid vocals, and first on remixing duties is one of Colorize's leading acts Sound Quelle with a typically driving, synth-heavy remix. Swedish producer Valante follows with an exquisite take built around lush pads and peppy synths, and Warung tie things up with their sublime, dream-like remix that makes stellar use of dazzling percussion and pulsating bass.

Three standout singles from Marsh’s third artist album ‘Endless’ receive reworks from Icarus, Anyasa and Warung.

With 15,000 album tour tickets sold to date, and a sold-out show at London’s iconic Electric Brixton under his belt, Marsh and his most recent album are fast becoming staples in the dance music scene, and with these new reworks, ‘Endless’ is taken even further onto the dancefloor.

Anyasa, the new alias of renowned Indian producer Anish Sood, adds acid basslines and a driving energy to ‘Forgiveness’, while Boston rising stars Warung add a heavier, clubbier feel to soft breakbeat track ‘Blue’. Combined with the already-released remix from Icarus, the two new offerings from these up-and-coming names make for a diverse and dynamic remix package.

Dear Deer Records is back with more brilliance, this time from Warung, who serves up four hard hitting techno rollers to get you in the groove.

Chaotic Individuality is first and is a rubbery, rugged groove with mad hits and perc up top to keep things loose. Long Drive then sinks into a slick deep house mould, with smooth grooves all uplifted by vocal coos up top and a warm sense of rising soul. Mujer De La Noche is a cosmic adventure that stretches out over eight minutes. It has punky hits over prickly kicks and pixelated synths weave in and out to great effect. Sabo closes things out with a rugged, industrial tinged groove that is all consuming.

Dear Deer Records get off to a fine start to 2020 here then.

Depeche Mode - Stranglove (Warung Remix)

Having previously cropped up on our Street Tracks Imprint Vol. 3 EP in late 2019, Warung, the electronic music project of Aaron Hopkins & Dillon Ames, returns to ST with a full release. The ‘Reverence’ EP brings together three fantastic tracks of climatic and enchanted house music.

Hailing from the USA, the Warung duo have been bringing their melodic and progressive sound to labels like KBD, Dear Deer and Earthly Delights.

‘Reverence’ is drenched in an almost 80’s ‘new wave’ atmosphere, with big chugging beats and a propelling bassline, the ice cold vocal refrains and glacial synths all making for a compelling production. ‘Deceit’ similarly forges a sound that’s both current, and with a nod to the early synth pop classic of the day, as arpeggiated keys dance over a booming rhythm track, whilst ‘Salience’ bursts out of the blocks with a light breakbeat and wistful and choral pads, a menacing bassline and celestial keys for a superb finale.

Warung - Salience

The goal of the Four Points series is to celebrate the international dance music scene, and this time is no different. With two acts from America and two from Germany, this new edition of the compilation bridges the Atlantic divide with four excellent new tracks and two Yoshitoshi debuts. Although clubs are closed, virtual parties and live streams have taken over the industry and new music is as important as ever, and we know these new tunes will find a happy home in your set, even if you're playing from home.

Los Angeles native Rinzen starts things off with exactly the type of intricate melodic techno the producer is known for; big, pounding drums and fluttering synth riffs that intertwine throughout the arrangement create an intense sonic journey. Next up we have Rachel Raw and BOHO, the dynamic duo from Cologne, who made their massive debut on Yoshitoshi a few months ago with the Happening EP. 'McQueen' is a dark and hypnotic roller that we could just love to hear in the club right about now. Berliner MUUI make his Yoshitoshi debut with 'Panoptic Phase,' showcasing his brand of cerebral house music with swirling, arpeggiated synths and spacious pads. This one is perfect for the late hours of the night. Finally, Bostonians Warung round things out with 'Memora,' an excellent addition to the package that shows why the young duo has already caught the ear of tastemakers like John Digweed and Waze & Odyssey. It's deep and melodic house at its finest.

Memora [Yoshitoshi]

'After scoring well over a half-million streams with 'Voice of Reason' on Spotify, their breakthrough debut track on Yoshitoshi in 2017, followed by 'Time' their 2018 single, Wolf Story has made quite the name for themselves releasing tracks on Get Physical, Einmusika and other notable labels. Now, two years later we welcome the duo back to Yoshitoshi with their new emotive single titled ‘Peak’ that come with an amazing remix from Warung.

The title track incorporates a smooth melodic bassline, intricate arps, floating guitar like synths topped with airy vocals that culminate into an emotional ride with balearic hints all over it, making it worthy of any sunrise or sunset in Ibiza.

After releasing two amazing originals on Yoshi, Warung comes back to the label this time on remix duties, kicking things up a notch with a soulful rendition of 'Peak', driven by nicely laid drums, syncopated bass and uplifting pads topped with some refreshing keyboard solo to die for. This is what you get when you marry house music with melodic techno. A classic Yoshi vibe.

The single marks a new and refined sound from Wolf Story, and we are excited to be a part of their sonic evolution.'

Initially released in November 2019, Nox Vahn's 'Brainwasher' became an iconic part of the Anjunadeep catalogue after features in both James and Jody's set at Anjunadeep London: Printworks and Above & Beyond’s warm up set at ABGT350.  With its foreboding spoken word verses and incomparably dark builds, the track has seen DJ support from Yotto, Oliver Smith, Jody Wisternoff, and Marsh.

Following remixes from Fatum and Genix in 2020, this January sees two new Brainwasher remixes from Washington's Enamour and Boston's Warung. Keeping to the originals' dark sound palette and rhythmic grooves, Enamour introduces an ear-worm of a synth riff in his aptly named 'Modular Lobotomy Mix'. Conversely, Warung delivers a beautiful progressive interpretation characterised by a light arpeggiated lead and a swelling chord progression.

While riding mopeds through busy Bali intersections, one half of this duo was intrigued by an Indonesian word that appeared on almost every street corner – “Warung.” Meaning “small family-run business,” it quickly became apparent how intrinsic these Warungs were to the culture: self made, the lifeline of the family, and an ever-lasting legacy to carry forth. 
 
The concept of Warung couldn’t have been a better inspiration for their sound and project. These two decided to forego their solo projects and together cultivate something rich, from the ground up, with the intention of starting an organic music identity.  The development continues, and with each groove constructed they push forward into a new space, learning to blend old with new. Two years later, Warung knows their way around the studio and is ready to bring more dance-floor-ready house to a thriving scene by blending old with new.
