The past few years have been incredibly intense for us, filled with live world tours, Hybrid DJ shows across the globe, and the establishment of our own festival and record label, The Moment.

These amazing adventures are dreams coming true, and we are deeply humbled and grateful for the unwavering love and support we receive steadily worldwide. It was truly wonderful to return to the studio to contemplate and to create new music, which remains our deepest passion. 

‘Kiss and Forget’ is a manifesto of love and unity—a brief auditory glimpse in time, from us to you. Created in Copenhagen with the invaluable support of our friends and family.

BBC Radio 1 – Essential Mix – 2021

WhoMadeWho’s Silence & Secrets is the gift that just keeps on giving. Following the critically acclaimed release of the original record back in November, and a subsequent brace of star-studded remixes from Frank Wiedemann and Adriatique in January, the Danish three-man outfit now looks to further expand on the success of the third single from their forthcoming album, as they enlist Grammy Award-winning South African artist Black Coffee to provide another blockbuster rendition.

Having just accepted the 2022 Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the award ceremony in Los Angeles last weekend, Black Coffee’s latest production sees Durban-born Nkosinathi Maphumulo breathe new life and a pulsating energy into WhoMadeWho’s wistful original single, as he imparts superlative rhythmic flair to the band’s restrained melodic euphoria.

Reworking WhoMadeWho’s emotive lyrics and uplifting chord progressions into his own percussive sound palette, Coffee’s signature house groove provides the perfect backdrop to Tomas Høffding’s drawn out vocal refrains, as he conjures an impressive tapestry of organic drum patterns and stripped back tones, to deliver the latest spellbinding remix of the flourishing hit record.

Over the last two decades, DJ and producer Black Coffee has fully established his presence as one of the most prominent names in electronic music. Shattering boundaries across the board, his recent productions include a record with international superstar Drake, an official remix for Alicia Keys and the release of his sixth studio album Subconsciously – a twelve-track body of work featuring collaborations with Pharrell Williams, Diplo, RyX, Usher and David Guetta – which recently received the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album by the Recording Academy.

On the live front, Black Coffee has also become one of the top touring performers in the world, with residencies in global dance music hot spots such as Ibiza, Mykonos and Las Vegas and an impressive tour schedule of over 150 shows each year.

Since their inception WhoMadeWho have established themselves as one of the definitive underground bands of their generation, renowned for their exceptional grasp of emotional depth, heartrending melody and inspired song writing. The group, comprised of Tomas Høffding, Tomas Barfod and Jeppe Kjellberg, inject consummate professionalism into standout performances all over the globe, from Roskilde to Sonar, Melt! to Burning Man and have produced seven albums and a plethora of EPs, singles and remixes on labels like Kompakt, Innervisions, Life & Death. WhoMadeWho - Silence & Secrets (Black Coffee Remix)

Two weeks ago, following almost a year of international hearsay and speculation, celebrated Danish band WhoMadeWho unveiled the details and upcoming release date of their seventh full-length studio album UUUU lnk.to/WhoMadeWho_UUUU A thirteen-track opus set for release on May 27 via German imprint Embassy One, the album announcement was marked by the release of the huge collaborative album title track with Rampa – UUUU.

Now, with the release of the band’s long player just a fortnight away, WhoMadeWho unleash one final pre-album gift, as they enlist Berlin-based producer and Keinemusik co-founder &ME to provide his own resplendent interpretation of the ethereal six-minute album single.

One of the most in-demand artists in electronic music today, there are very few producers on the circuit who can lay claim to such an abundant slew of dancefloor juggernauts as &ME. The man behind tracks including Muyé, Discoteca, The Rapture Pt.II and perhaps most notably his 2019 remix of Guy Gerber’s What To Do, the past few years has also seen &ME help spearhead the huge international success of the Keinemusik collective, alongside esteemed label mates Rampa, Adam Port and Reznik.

Delivering a beautifully nuanced underground house cut, awash with luscious analogue textures, restrained rhythms and a blissful groove that bolsters the record across its duration, &ME’s remix is an absolute masterclass from the off; its pulsating heartbeat and teasing builds sweeping and soaring with intense delight. Subtle yet immense, the remix is produced with the poise and elegance of an artist who has been captivating minds with his music for over fifteen years – an artist whose ability to link innovative production with consensual reception making him one of the most unique and original figures in the game.

Widely regarded as one of the most important figures to emerge from Africa’s expansive electronic music scene, Shimza has already left an indelible mark on the continent’s vibrant dance music culture. Boasting an impressive catalogue of career releases on the likes of Cadenza, Knee Deep In Sound and his very own KUNYE imprint, the highly respected South African producer now lands on Embassy One for the very first time to deliver his official remix for WhoMadeWho & Rampa’s collaborative UUUU album single, Everyday.

Due for release on Friday, October 28, Shimza’s hypnotic remix sees the KUNYE label boss reimagine WhoMadeWho & Rampa’s emotive original into his own spirited offering; his deep and rhythmic house grooves providing the perfect backdrop to Tomas Høffding’s lingering vocal refrains. Constructing an impressive assortment of rolling drum loops, sparse piano chords and stripped back samples, Shimza’s production marks the second official remix of the flourishing hit record, following the worldwide release of Jennifer Cardini’s remix on October 14.

Combining his unrelenting passion for electronic music with an inextinguishable desire to make a positive impact on his surroundings, Shimza is a totem figure in South Africa’s music scene and one of the leaders of house music in Africa. Launching his KUNYE label (which means “together” in Xhosa/Zulu) in November 2020, the imprint now provides an important bridge between South Africa’s emerging producers and the global stage.

Making history on Nelson Mandela Day 2020, Shimza became the first artist to perform on World Heritage Site Robben Island, where the former South African President and Nobel Peace Laureate was imprisoned. Raising money for the Kolisi Foundation, the Nelson Mandela Foundation, the Shimuzic Foundation and Robben Island itself, Shimza’s livestream performance fused music and culture to engage and educate audiences around the globe, while giving back to the community in extremely testing times.

The last twelve months have been nothing short of a whirlwind ride for WhoMadeWho. Reflecting on one the most prolific years in their esteemed history – a year which has seen them drop their critically acclaimed studio album UUUU and wrap their intensive world tour – the globally sought-after Danish act now looks to conclude 2022 in style, as they commission Patrice Bäumel to deliver one of the biggest remixes of the year.

No strangers to one another, following the release of their debut collaboration Nefertari on Cercle Records in 2021, the WhoMadeWho-Bäumel combination is tried and tested, to say the least. With Bäumel now on official remix duties, this latest record sees the world-renowned Dutch producer breathe a vibrant club energy into one of the standout singles from WhoMadeWho’s latest album, as he reimagines the inimitable Never Alone.

True to reputation, Bäumel’s remix is a masterclass from the off. Manipulating Tomas Høffding’s withdrawn vocals across the latter half of the nine-minute cut, the Dutchman’s heady amalgam of rhythmic drum patterns and textured synths is utterly compelling, as he concocts a spine-tingling house track that delivers from the very first kickdrum. Propelled by deep basslines and dynamic synth lines, Patrice’s remix brings the whimsical original to the depths of the dancefloor, as he adds to his expansive catalogue with yet another majestic, peak-time masterpiece.

"We only met for 5 minutes while waiting in a backstage line, but the vibe was so great that we later decided to do a back-to-back set on @maxacamp at Burning Man. We never got a chance to discuss the idea in detail, as there’s no reception at Burning Man. However, the set turned out to be incredibly fun and inspiring for everyone involved, as the videos show. Big thanks to Maxa for encouraging us to make it happen."

WhoMadeWho expand their creative field with the conception of new record label The Moment. Intrinsically linked to their beautifully curated festival, the platform draws from the same philosophies as their event series. It’s about depth, connection, shared moments, feelings and innovation centered around amplifying the human experience. The music shared through the label embodies the spirit of WhoMadeWho, a trio who have strived to maintain the heart and soul of their musical expression, from their early forays into the world of Indie, to their more recent electronic exploits.

With the first release they have collaborated with a British artist to facilitate his debut release. Known by the artist name Everything Is Art, the London-based Manchester-born creative draws from a deep well of musical touch points. From Aphex Twin and Mike Oldfield to trance and Balearic Beats, Everything Is Art channels the soulful and spiritual side of electronic music into his productions. Together they have produced a spellbinding cut - ‘All The Love’. A highlight in WhoMadeWho’s recent sets, the track works off a sturdy percussive base with stirring vocals that go straight to the heart of your emotional centre. Shrouded in layers of warm synth, the energy builds slowly, guiding us into a rousing breakdown, punctuated by solemn piano keys and reverberating vocals. This takes us into the second half, where the beautifully composed track continues to immerse us in its breathtaking atmosphere…

Striking the perfect balance of uplifting, heartfelt vocals and emotive arrangement, with a hint of melancholy, ‘All The Love’ epitomises the beautifully harmonious synergy between WhoMadeWho and Everything Is Art.

Everything Is Art & WhoMadeWho - All The Love

Following up the debut release on The Moment, ‘All The Love’ gets the remix treatment from Belgian talent, Samm. Originally produced by Everything Is Art with label heads WhoMadeWho, this cut has been melting hearts worldwide as a key feature in WhoMadeWho sets in recent times. It was the perfect cut to launch The Moment, embodying a sound that epitomises the ethos around the brand. 

Now we have Samm’s remix. Samm has been making a name for himself with a steady flow of releases that straddle the lines between indie dance, afro house and more. As co-owner of Magnifik Records (with Ajna) he has established a successful label, sound and event series in his native Belgium. Gigs across Europe include shows at Tomorrowland and Pacha Ibiza, while his production credentials include debut EP Does It Matter.

With his reinterpretation of ‘All The Love’ Samm alchemises a dreamlike atmosphere with funky drum arrangement, stirring strings that add a subtle layer of emotional tension and high impact synth stabs. The juxtaposition of rough and smooth creates a captivating feeling throughout, with the vocals taking on a haunting character. The wistful breakdown precedes a powerful entry into the second half of the track, which maintains its mesmerising balance between darkness and light.
