In the current landscape of musical culture, we have seen an immense movement of new forms of sound and frenzied approach to the hybridization of music. A-0 epitomizes this form of creation, drawing from the traditions of dub, noise, techno, and bass to create a Frankenstein of genre-less sound system artillery. Throwing predictable musical traditions aside, A-0’s music is projected forward by hisses, pops, percussion, and ever-mutating low end. The sounds of liquefied pianos, mangled synthesizers, and broken drumbeats rise, releasing into a pool of low end and ambience, where melody is joined by harmony to create a blend of venerable rhythms and dystopian noise.
