Great song. I like the repeating guitar stab throughout. It sounds more of directly contemporary than some of your other songs. I'd like to hear this recorded a deep bassier & wetter ... more polished, as possibly a bit sqeaky sounding in parts, but all just my own sound preferences, and I am listening to this on phone speaker! :) Great work. 

Listening to this again ... I hear tints of Joy Division, possibly in the bass tones and guitar work. Would love to hear this re-jigged to sound really Ian Curtis-ish with New Order synth sound ... but that's just me.

It's no surprise that the 1994 "Gold Soundz" would be included on the recent Best of Pavement album, Quarantine the Past. The stream-of-consciousness lyrics, broken only to alert the band of the coming chorus, are a big part of what makes the band's entire catalog so compelling—but it's the surprisingly understated instrumental section that always does me in. A smattering of guitars rise and fall with graceful ambiguity, blooming in the middle in a fit of unexpected ecstasy only to collapse drunk on the floor. Beautiful.
