sinking feelings, floating thoughts

i wrote this track while reflecting on my recent trip to japan, thinking about the people i met over the course of the trip. there were some new chance encounters, and some long overdue reunions as well. i'm very grateful to have been able to share good times and make unforgettable memories with friends, both old and new. despite the brevity of our meetings, i truly feel that i've met some very special people, and have been afforded a small glimpse into their lives. though their lives are vastly detached from my own, i cannot help but fervently wish the best for them knowing that they will face changes and adversities as our lives continue apart. i want to thank them for their kindness and hospitality. i want to cheer them on and support them however i can. i want to return the favour someday. i'm just very glad that i was able to meet them.
