Born and raised into the Norwegian tradition of marching
bands and hi-fidelity sound-systems, Skjaerstad’s musical
education is built on an assemblage of formal training
and informal listening. Skjaerstad exchanged the brass
section for a mixer when the glacial sounds of Röyksopp
and Jean Michel Jarre lured him into the rabbit hole. As
his palette refined, he gravitated towards the intellectual
offerings of minimal music. Sound design is his central
focus in the booth, where Skjaerstad avoids big room
gestures in favour of lean, groove based selections. In
2017 Skjaerstad was selected as Norway’s representative
for the BURN Residency program, providing him with an
international platform

His journey into the realm of electronic music commenced in 2008 when he embarked on playing sets of minimal techno within local clubs. As time progressed, his fascination led him to delve into the intricacies of electronic music composition and production.

Currently based in the United Kingdom, Soltanum remains dedicated to his artistic growth and progression. Since 2020, he has also undertaken a pivotal role as one of the co-founders of the Outpunkt label. Through this platform, he has effectively showcased his musical versatility across various genres including minimal, micro house, deep tech, and minimal house.

We welcome Manchester based DJ and Producer HISH to the podcast series. After following his music for some time, we are excited to be working with him on this seamless mix.

Based in Manchester, owner of Tempo & one half of Raz.ish, he has been working with eclectic sounds for quite some time. Also co owner of justfishwax & working on an upcoming vinyl only label.
