Tied together by syncopated rhythms and broken beats, each producer featured brings their own style, tempo and atmosphere. The first release from this new imprint provides a range and depth that reflects Bristol’s musical versatility, from newcomer Syz whose contribution follows highly praised releases on Only Ruins and Brotherhood Sound System, to some of the city’s newest party starters to rise through the ranks.

The journey begins with Syz and Yushh, both showcasing intricate percussion and delicate melodies that roll with energy over subby baselines. On the flip, Mish brings a chugged out, wobbly techno treasure with hints of dancehall rhythms. Mulengasound then bringing the atmosphere and space, perfect for that warm-up transition and Balouu’s playful Egyptian melodies and strong, Arabesque synth-lines close the party.

All five tracks ooze individuality, yet subtly tie together with influences and sounds of a city that naturally nurtures progressive experimentalism. Pressure Dome’s offering is a fine example of burgeoning collective, with likeminded producers set on an uncompromising approach to the broken beat.

The garden was a glowing dense green in the warm rays of the late afternoon sun. It had been a long day and they had spent a lot of time swimming in the pool beneath the tall trees at the foothill of the house. It was late September and the weather was abnormally hot for the season - for this they were thankful. Outside time was special, for during the winter months there would be bleak drifts of snow as deep and tall as the mind could ever dream. That night they would sit beneath the stars and watch what might be..

The latest EP to emerge on Isla comes with a tall tale, a story of friendship and music through the ages as described by the label best themselves...

"In the early nineties, directly influenced by the Summer of Love of 1988, Florentine Riccardo Falsini began his project I Believe-a miscellaneous collection of records, compilations, and collaborations-released through his label Interactive Test (co-run with brother Franco Falsini).

These sounds would eventually reach Vancouver-based producer AVR (Avery La Rochelle) in the summer of 2018. Compelled by Riccardo's legacy as a producer and a deejay, Avery reached out to the Italian producer.

A friendship formed that would see them collaborate on various dance events in Vancouver, as well as their Outside Of Time EP, a reverie of hallucinatory trance music. Over the past year, the duo recorded these tracks with the free spirit of early rave culture in mind.

Outside Of Time is certified dance floor therapy that inspires the listener to believe in the power of love and music."

It's time for celebration ! As the Worst Records adventure goes on and on, let's take a moment for a multiverse reunion in the form of our first Greatest Hits compilation. This imaginary space is the meeting point between some figures of our hometown and others from outer lands.

You will cross the paths of the authors of the first three releases of the label, namely A Strange Wedding, Christian Coiffure and Jacques Satre (also delivering a mind-warping session under Babiah 8000 alongside Saint-Etienne's activist Farkoner). You'll also hear from Del.Duc & Basic, members of the Positive Education crew. As special guests, we wanted to put some highlights on intriguing faces such as Itako, Gil.Barte and Tassilo Vanhoefen, providing there slow-motion, heavy dream-powered tunes in the style we adore so much. Beesmunt Soundsystem and Black Seed bring up some notable contributions from outside of France, whether it is for a raindance session or a tribal expedition. 
How to sum up this whole vortex of trippy blocks of sound ? Our dear friend Eiger Drums Propaganda has the answer in the opening track : some strange things happen in this city... and this city is Saint Etienne. This being said in a malicious voice, of course.
