A little something I've been working on today. I've been practicing more on making good chord progressions lately, attempting to one-up myself after the song I made in OHC259. Mixing and arrangement so far is preliminary; I'll probably work more on this later.

This is a little introduction track that's comparatively simple than the first intro track that I did when I tried writing the album last year. It keeps the same key that I used for Stardust Rings but replaces it with an entirely new composition, signifying a fresh restart into this project that I've done for 3 years before.

I kind of made this track somewhat more ambitious than I needed it to be, considering the fact that I finished this on what should've been my third day of production. There might be some bumpy parts in the full song, but I hope my efforts were worth all of the trouble.

After scrapping this track about 3 times, I finally got a nice kind-of old azuracore type of track laid down. I gave this song a few gear shifts near the end and also did plenty of experimentation with the panning on some of the notes, so hopefully that widens things up a bit.

Hopefully the drum arrangements aren't too sparse :o

Harutopia - Mechanical Flower (Preview)

It always seems to be tracks 4 and 5 where I have the most issues trying to come up with ideas. Nevermind the fact that it's Saturday and I just finished the 5th track just now. It took me a little while to try and find a decent progression that I wanted to go forward with, but I finally managed to find it. Somehow, I ended up going with a sort of trip-hoppy rhythm, and I may or may not have cut a few corners with making this track (namely the fact that the song only has one "chorus" section).

Now to focus my energy on the last couple of tracks. Harutopia releases tomorrow night on April 3, 2016.

The second to last track. I kinda went a bit overboard with some of the instrumentation, considering that this is probably one of the busiest tracks on the album (and also the fastest). Even so, I'm kinda proud of how it turned out, even if some of the instruments do clash with each other in some parts.

If A-zu-ra made music select BGM for music games

It first started when I was experimenting with the Padawan plugin from Tweakbench which can be heard resonating throughout the entire song. The project was originally at 140BPM, but once I started experimenting with riffs that would accompany the resulting sound I made with the Padawan, I ended up shifting it to 222BPM, a value seen in two previous related songs, "Tableflip" and "Peopleflip," released on The OHC Collection -the FIRST- and Sevensongs of Springbreak, respectively. Once I got all the potential patterns down, it was just a matter of arranging them into something feasible.

For some reason, I also stuck with a 5/4 time signature, a first for me. Needless to say, it was fun making riffs that would fit in such an uncommon time signature.

I could say that it's a re-imagining of "Tableflip" as it contains some of the key riffs heard in that song, but I think it could also be a song that stands out in and of itself.

A main menu tune to encapsulate a portion of Virtual YouTube, primarily in themes. Features leitmotifs and jingles from Hackadoll, Kaguya Luna, Nekomiya Hinata, and Natori Sana; overall progressions are based on Hackadoll's Vtube outros.

This is my OHC Round 536 entry "KamoKumo." This song was posted as-is from the original submission with no extra post-processing.

What started off as an experiment with me slicing up So-Ra-Wo-To-Bu (DDRKirby Mix) and arranging the tones to something rhythmically comprehensible took on a life of its own. I've so far spent over 5 hours mixing and building upon this song, and so far, it sounds pretty good as it is.

I feel there could be a lot more to expand upon in some places, particularly the ending where the build-up is significantly longer than what it builds up to. Either way, I'm taking suggestions on how I could improve on this arrangement-wise (and probably sound-wise, though I'll most likely restrict it to fine-tuning, for the most part).

P.S. The song that this song slices is not related to So-Ra-No-Wo-To in any way; it just uses the same style of naming as it.

The first entry of my new benchmark album titled "Fourteensongs of February." Album art will be available at a later date.

I wanted to make something with the feel of Wreath from my previous benchmark album, "the bed of diverse flowers," but with the vast improvements that I've made in the years since I made that album. I hope this turned out alright for what it is; it's only the first track, after all!

Works Reel for 300g Curry Rice

Not satisfied with my first attempt (which you can see here: http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/OHC216), I decided to redo this piece into something that would actually fit in with the gameplay of Prismic Shift.

Up until now, this track was only available on the video game, and even then, the version that's on the video game is a bit unpolished mixing-wise. Here's a more polished version of that song for your listening pleasure. This will also be in future versions of Prismic Shift, starting version 0.48.
