It's been a bit but wanted to give an update! My next full release is finally wrapping up and I'm hoping to release it soon. Since I haven't posted in awhile I'm hoping to fix up some random songs I had been working on during the album. Here is one I recently did, hope you like it! :3

Zyphra [Minimal Groove Concept]

My daughter Cienna had her first day of kindergarten. She walked in like it was nothing. Meanwhile, I’m standing there realizing oh crap… these are the good old days and they’re already happening. Cue dad tears.

This remix grew out of that moment. It leans on a Tinlicker track we’ve had blasting in the family playlist for a year. The vocal is from Fontella Bass, a criminally underrated soul singer from the ’60s who sang backup for David Bowie and still somehow isn’t a household name. Her voice is raw, honest, and basically does all the emotional heavy lifting for me here.

I also borrowed a little flavor from Jody Wisternoff’s The Bridge (another family playlist classic). So yeah—it’s basically a Frankenstein love-letter built out of all the music we live with every day.

The cover photo? Snapped by me at the Venetian in Vegas, just before my 41st birthday. Because what says “sentimental dad” better than crying at kindergarten drop-off and then gambling in the desert?

Anyway—melodic house with a soulful feel. Crafted with intention, fueled by dad feelings, and best enjoyed on your own family playlist (existential crisis optional).
