This album comes from the afternoons when my grandfather picked me up from school in his Windstar. Detroit passed by the windows as we drove across the city to pick up my grandmother from work, sometimes stopping at Eastern Market for ice cream, sometimes grabbing food in the RenCen. The one constant was smooth jazz on V98.7 playing in the background, my grandfather lightly drumming along as we waited outside "old" Karmanos.

The sound of this album lives inside those memories. These songs carry that feeling forward through the way I create now, with technology that allows me translate those memories into music. Mixing nostalgia with a few modern twists, blending Motown drums with a hint of salsa for my mom on "Motown in Havana", and capturing my father-in-law Fast Freddy's hustling spirit on "Freddy on the Scene", this project brings different shades of smooth jazz together through my own interpretation.

This album is my way of honoring family and the city that raised me, a smooth jazz Detroit story told through the eyes of the boy riding in the passenger seat.

“Breath of the Strings — After Midnight” is an intimate late-night jazz journey told through the voice of an upright bass. Every track is a story whispered after the world has gone quiet — warm rooms, soft lamps, empty glasses, and emotions you can only admit when the night is listening.

Led by deep, expressive upright-bass lines and supported by soft Rhodes piano, brushed drums, and gentle sax, this album feels like stepping into a tiny jazz club long after closing time. It’s emotional, comforting, nostalgic, and cinematic — the kind of music that lets your heart breathe again.

Since early age, Yair has shown impeccable musical abilities, from playing the recorder to wining first prize competitions for classical guitar in which he was rated as the best guitar player in Israel for his age group. Yair attended the "Jerusalem Music Academy".

Yair has a wide record of credits from Israel to London to Hollywood; his scores are featured in Israeli TV Shows, feature films and worldwide advertisement campaigns. Yair’s music is also featured in some of the most exclusive catalogs of the industry such as Sonic Symphony, Really Slow Motion, Demented Sound Mafia and Warner Bros.

Yair create works that thrives at the intersection of music and film, advertisements, video games and other media needs. “I believe that music is what underlies the lives of everyone, whether consciously or subconsciously. Music is the most powerful element of human communication.
