I know I've been away for a while...I've been stuck in a weird place in my life where all I'm trying to do is succeed and work harder and bust my ass, but it seems like everything is working against me recently. And I know that I have to push and fight harder and pick myself up so I can become the man I'm meant to be. So I've been having conversations with myself and the people around me trying to make sure I keep myself on the right path and making the right decisions so I can be successful. So this song represents me having a conversation with myself and telling myself to get my shit together. And on the second verse I talk to my best friend and let him know I'm always gunna be here for him cause as a retired veteran lords he goes through so much more than I do and I understand and appreciate more everything that he has done not only for me but this entire country. Everybody deals with depression and mental health in different ways. The one thing that has always helped me any time I go through something, has been to drown myself in music. And as weird as it sounds, sad music has always been something that allows me to cope with the hard times. It may seem backwards but it's always been something that I can relate to because society teaches us that we have keep everything bottled up inside of us but fuck that. Being vulnerable is essential to how we live as humans. There is nothing wrong with allowing your vulnerabilities to come out, because sometimes that can be the difference between life and death for some people. This song is very very personal to me and I wrote it at a time where I was in a very dark place mentally and if I can help even one person heal and relate and not feel like they are the only one going through something then maybe I can do something that may save someone's life someday.
