"Cargo Cult" EP is not just a collection of songs. This study of human tendency to create illusory systems of faith and rituals in pursuit of unattainable or false ideals, criticism of the consumer society and blind, as well as deep immersion in personal existential dead ends and disappointments. This is a powerful conceptual frame for creating a memorable, thinking and emotionally charged musical work; created, produced and mixed by mandruvá & Ruksby.

External imitation without understanding the essence, blind faith in the ritual as a means of achieving the desired, the gap between action and the real result, the creation of illusory systems to obtain an unattainable good. The combination of "primitive", acoustic, ethnic sounds (drums, percussion, folklore motifs) with cold, mechanistic electronics, industrial, noise. 

This reflects a mixture of traditional and modern, ritual and technology. Repeating rhythms, mantras, looped samples, increasing tension - creating a sensation of the transient state of the participants in the cult.

To wrap up this EP, we’re thrilled to have three outstanding producers on board once again: Mverto Futura from Guatemala, along with TKUZ and Leonor from Mexico — each delivering their own distinctive soundscapes to shape “Cargo Cult”

The Tube

LENSKE’s first release by Farrago, “Risin”, comes packing high velocity punches, including a collaboration with Amelie Lens and a remix from Kobosil. The EP’s A side is packed near 12 minutes of crisp machine driven techno with Farrago’s rattling peak-time “The Riddler” being the first to puncture. The title track, “Risin”, will only be released as the Kobosil remix, a titanium tour of auditory horrors, which also borrows from the EP’s other tracks. Lens’ signature sultry vocal samples on the B side’s “Jealousy” draw the contours of a jaw grinding banger, while “Hidden Power” rounds out the release with a blaring dance floor siren encased in exquisitely unpredictable arrangement. Buckle up brothers and sisters, BOg is back on Monaberry and he's taking us on a trip direct to the heart of the Sahara on a magic carpet made of crisp arpeggios and powered by barbed soul hurricane atmospheric. Balmy yet foreboding, stark, alluring and fundamentally mesmerising, 'Shila's comisicity is tailormade for another perfect Monaberry excursion.

As have the remixes… Human machine Pavi makes his debut on the label with a percussion primed hypnosis piece while Edu Imbernon (also popping his Monaberry cherry) adds a few more minutes to meter with the aid of a breath-taking harmonic texture that soars with more and more emotion and intensity as the track progresses.
For the fourth and final trip BOg calls up Argentinian kindred spirit Kintar and heads due south west to Tanzania for an even deeper, sense-blurring finale. Tense, tribal and peppered with warped synth textures and sudden plunges into dark bass abysses, our only light is another sinewy arpeggio that twists and turns under a sunrise of euphoric pads and tribe song. Do not unfasten your seatbelt until the song has fully finished.

Yet another unforgettable Monaberry mission that will enthral and stimulate long beyond the hot summer ahead. Safe travels.

Opening track Romeo revolves around a sparse, dramatic bassline and similarly sentimental synths, making for introspective flashes on the dancefloor.

On November we’re greeted by grand melodies with huge, spacious pads and monumental breakdowns, the perfect ingredients to spark up those emphatic, hands-in-the-sky type of moments.

Meanwhile, Monocloque flips the script and reveals ample pads in a spectral, dark sound palette, decked with ominous synths and looming resolutions.

A home grown product of the Frankfurt electronic scene, it’s only right that Michael Klein should find his way to Cocoon Recordings. After a string of releases on BLK DRP, Second State and Micro.fon, together with a DJ schedule that’s established him as a well known face on the European techno circuit, destiny has come knocking and the result is a two track EP
that will blow the roof off even the most sturdy of clubs.

Thunder clouds gather on “Yuzu“ - a full-on dose of headstrong, slamming techno. Rampant hi hats, a rasping bass and a frenzied acid riff conjure up a deliberately disorientating electric storm that takes a
certain amount of pleasure in battering the dance floor like a force ten gale. Plastik snare rolls dominate the breakdowns and whip-crack percussion prolong the audio beatings being dished out on
this ‘next generation’ acid-techno.

Klein adds some extra bounce to the raw, pounding beats on “Eureka“, creating a cavernous backdrop that transports you back to the heyday of E-Werk. Then, it’s all aboard the night train as the sounds
gradually morph into some kind of demonic locomotive, hissing and spitting out fire and smoke as it cuts a path through the darkness, hurtling full throttle into the abyss where at- mospheric tempo
changes to the main motif add an extra dimension of mayhem to proceedings.

Warning! Like a surfer waiting for the seventh wave you either rise to the occasion, get on top of these tracks and ride them ecstatically to the shore or you’re gonna find yourself crushed by the relentless
