Presenting their second release of the year, Secret Feelings unveils a new single from label boss JFR. Hailing from Argentina but currently calling Spain home, Juan Franco Rivero aka JFR has built momentum off 2024, a year which included an appearance on All Day I Dream, with an exceptional offering to begin 2025 via his Secret Feelings imprint. Landing in February, 'Danda' would showcase JFR's inventive melodies and elusive approach to production, in turn earning support from a broad selection of DJs. Now, as 2025 approaches it's spring season, JFR returns to Secret Feelings with 'Kekei', alongside a remix from Hole Box & Vite.

Continuing to survey newfound sounds, JFR crafts one of his most memorable productions to date in ‘Kekei’. Full of deep, mystical qualities, the elusive talent smoothly blends warm voluptuous grooves with exotic percussion and cross-cultural themes, making for a smooth yet energetic path into the break. Smoothly evolving across the interlude, the distinctive lead theme percolates against a wispy textural backdrop, creating an air of anticipation, before a rush of drums reveals bassy drop and mesmerizing finale.

Rounding out the release with the lone interpretation of 'Kekei' are Hole Box & Vite. Hailing from Mexico, and operating as occasional studio partners, Hole Box and Vite arrive on the label following projects for Akbal Music, Musique de Lune and Tale & Tone, amongst others. Always a formidable production team, the duo opt for a smooth organic rendition here, one which stays true the main themes from the original, while incorporating a more spacious framework and cinematic style break to capture the imagination of the dancefloor. Highly recommended.

Dreaming Awake is thrilled to bring forth an incredible EP from Digital Mess featuring 2 outstanding original tracks with remixes by Dowden & Andreas Bühler and Paul Hamilton!

Both tracks 'Outlands' and 'It's Windy Today' are exactly what we'd expect from Digital Mess, seriously proper Progressive House with top level production. Outlands gives us a nostalgic melodic hook that brings back memories of Prog House's first glory days in the late 90s, while It's Windy Today has super tight grooves, deep bass and synth leads that Digital Mess has become known for.

Dowden & Andreas Bühler join forces to take Outlands to another level! The bassline is so rich and their added melodic elements and arrangement are certain to get dance floors going wild!

Paul Hamilton rounds out the release perfectly with is remix of It's Windy Today. A lovely rendition of the original using the melodic elements in his own unique way, as we'd expect from this Prog House master!

Roger Martinez's Higher States opens the spring season by welcoming Hobin Rude to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Serbia, Hobin Rude first emerged in 2020 on the strength of a remix for Jelly For The Babies One Of A Kind imprint. His progressive sounds quickly found favour with the genres premiere tastemakers in Armen Miran, Eelke Kleijn, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, eventually leading to releases via Hoomidaas, Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Plattenbank, Sudbeat, The Soundgarden and WARPP. Also an established DJ, the Belgrade resident has played across the globe, showcasing his keen sense of dancefloor dynamics alongside elite international talents Guy J, Roy Rosenfeld, Tim Green and Volen Sentir, amongst others. With 2025 already yielding key projects for iNU and Mango Alley, Hobin now adds Higher States to his resume with Lunar Bloom. Beginning with Lunar Bloom, Hobin showcases a groovy melodic approach which sets the tone for the EP. Full of alluring textures and smooth design qualities, the Serbian phenom expertly blends plush kick drums and warm shapely grooves, with haunted vocal refrains, rebounding rhythms and emerging atmospheres, for a captivating path into the break. Further revealing his creative attitude across the interlude, its a cinematic array of texture which emerges to reveal bucolic motifs and plucked melodies for a hopeful moment, before getting washed away in a rush of beats and percussion for an uplifting finale. The second and final selection Eclipse Harmony finds Hobin collaborating with fellow countryman Nikola Jovanovic. Best known for his releases via Balkan Connection and Deep Down Music, the Belgrade resident pairs wonderfully with Hobin, as the duo forecasts balmy textures and panning effects, atop punchy beats and deep pulsating grooves, for what results in a haunting atmospheric journey that's perfect for the morning hours.

A new collaborative pairing to grace the Meanwhile catalogue, Kasey Taylor and Gai Barone embrace the musical talents of Wilma on their twin-track “Passing Over the Clouds / Soul Mystique” EP.

Hugely respected figures in their own rights, Kasey Taylor and Gai Barone account for almost 1000 production credits between them. Featuring on the likes of Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, John Digweed’s Bedrock and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden, Kasey is a genuine legend, not least through his own hugely influential Vapour Recordings. Similarly impressive, Gai is able to add releases on Tiesto’s Black Hole, Markus Schulz’s Coldharbour and John 00 Fleming’s JOOF, to the mix with almost a century on Elef Tsiroudis’ Afterglow Records.

After Gai Barone remixes of Kasey Taylor’s “Simplicity” and “Mysterious Madness” in 2021 and 2024, the Australian/Italian axis saw a first collaborative EP appear courtesy of “Distance Between Us / From Afar” on Afterglow late last year. Now combining with classically trained cellist, Wilma, the Australian musician has found herself much in demand with “25 years devotion to her art” and releases on the likes of Stone Seed, Beat & Path and The Soundgarden. With an all-encompassing sound that bridges underground house, melodic techno and electronica, Wilma has lit up dance music in the 2020s.

Opening with a fizzing percussive top line, “Passing Over the Clouds” is an immaculately conceived offering that quickly sees an array of twinkling arps, pads and synths sitting atop a sub-bassline and rasping analogue variation. Evolving with a kaleidoscopic pattern of effects, the various melodic elements come to the fore in a breakdown that blossoms with the introduction of Wilma’s exquisite and free-flowing cello. Intertwined seamlessly with synth phrasing in the latter stages, the final movement drops back into familiar rhythmic patterns.

Partner track, “Soul Mystique” continues the majestic melodic narrative with flowing synth patterns, harder-edged arp patterns and twinkling piano combining to magical effect. Pausing briefly in the early stages, Wilma’s coruscating cello weaves an emotive sonic tapestry that fits perfectly within the surrounding musical palette. A multi-oscillator bassline adds range and rhythmic cadence in synchronicity with a thumping beat and ticking shakers to provide a sublime dancefloor structure to mystical melodies that envelope the listener.

Floating skywards with serene beauty, Kasey Taylor, Gai Barone and Wilma have reached new heights with “Passing Over the Clouds / Soul Mystique”.
