This is the first part of a downtempo, cosmic, ambiental (here and there) trip with incredible music from the likes of Lawrence, SCSI-9, Guy Gerber, Robert Babicz and many more. 

I took a step aside from my usual tech/deep house feet pleasers and focused on something a bit more mature and hopefully thoughtful.

The chosen tracks are a representation of my core preferences in terms of music and the lowered pitch makes this set a great companion for that one moment of the day when you simply want to relax.

Seasons greetings! We're closing out 2024 with a selector that perhaps needs no further introduction, but in case you've been living under a rock for the past 15 years, we are extremely excited to present the next Idle Cellars mix by the one and only EDDIE C! Mr. C (NOT THAT ONE) is, in our esteemed opinion, one of the best DJ's in the entire world and we're crazy stoked to have him as the next IC mix for your listening pleasure. Canada-born & Berlin-bred, Eddie has been gallivanting all over the globe as a musical expert in a world of tourists, ready to spread good vibes and his sparkling personality (plus that Canadian politeness we always hear about) to the four corners of the planet. 

His resume is, frankly, ridiculous. As a producer and "editor", Eddie is responsible for countless fantastic releases across disco edit labels like his own RED MOTORBIKE, COMMON EDIT, 7 INCHES OF LOVE, KOLOUR LTD, SLEAZY BEATS, LUMBERJACKS IN HELL and many, many more, plus he's been fully embraced by the Japanese contingent with many releases on MULE sublabel ENDLESS FLIGHT as well as CRUE-L & SOUNDOFSPEED. The man's discography as a producer is as wide as it is deep and he continues to be extremely active with new remixes or originals coming out regularly.

DJ-wise our boy has the chops to be dropped into any situation and rock the party, whether that's at Cafe Del Mar, Panoramabar, the Sunset Campout or dodgy mafia-run nightclubs in deepest Eastern Europe. To put it succinctly, he is...THE MAN. 

We think Eddie C is a perfect closer to our year. Thanks for coming along with us on these journeys, and we hope you can give us a subscribe and stay tuned - we have some seriously cool things happening for 2025 so don't sleep, and have a wonderful holiday season and New Year. The ever prolific Mihai Popoviciu pops up on Sublease with three tracks of assured house music. 

The Romanian DJ and producer has built a powerful reputation for quality electronic music that spans techno to tech and deeper sounding house. Here he dives into his more grooving side with three tracks that set a distinct mood. 

What I Need brings a strong vocal together with drifty synths and tight drums to make an atmospheric, rolling cut. 

Come Out edges up the intensity slightly with firing percussion and a slinky bassline. 

Temptation sets the sights firmly on the dancefloor with a driving groove, bubbling bassline and dreamy, deep chord stabs.

fka boursin is the sort of musician we like. Understated, doesn’t take himself too seriously yet manages to channel real emotion and depth through music.

The sounds speak from themselves with Henry drawing upon influences from the likes of Dj Sprinkles, Basic Channel, old NY House music and after hours sounds.

The end result is a puzzle made up of pieces from each – all with evocative undertones throughout.

The latest release is out on Scissor & Thread – a suitable home for an eclectic, long playing selection of pensive tracks which leave food for thought.

This is music for late night moments alone, for foggy mornings and reflective moments.

Human Nature

Young and uprising, totally passioned about the tech side of electronic music, Kozo isn’t afraid to touch both house and techno genre to complete his musical journey.
His groovy and uplifting sets are rumoured to be inspired by the likes of Jules Verne, Terry Gilliam and Dalai Lama. Cartoon Network is still a sensitive subject. He strongly belives that one day Chuck Norris will find him.
These days Kozo is focusing all his strenght in production and the growth of his new Understand label, founded with friends Cezar and Praslea. His first track (under the Kozonak alias) can be found on Arpiar’s 05 release, his first EP will be ready soon enough.
This week's Vibecast Sessions episode is a beautifully crafted 1 hour mix, exploring various sides of electronic music, be it deep house, dub techno or a more techier sound ;)
