The Space Session 1

Here are 5 songs recorded in Athens, GA on June 21, 2012 at the beautifully rebuilt Georgia Theater.  It was part of our opening set for Explosions In the Sky, who we can not say enough good things about.

It was kind of a magical night.  lots of spontaneous outbursts from the crowd... We were in a strange headspace given that we had driven from Miami overnight before (a 700 mile drive)... so not our best performances but we definitely had fun in a sureal kind of way!  I think it's safe to say we had the biggest Zebra Butt fan in the world in the audience that night...

Sean Dixon on drums, Mikey Zammuto on bass, Gene Back on organ, keys and guitar. and your's truly on guitar, vocals and Moog Slim Phatty mono-synth.

Thanks to Matt and Colm from the venue for mixing the show.

The recordings were made by Sloan Simpson using a Neumann KM-184, with a Grace Design Lunatec preamp, run Line In to a Sony M10 recorder.  He was standing near the soundboard with the mics on a stand about 40 ft from the stage.  Thank you, Sloan, for sharing these with us... such a pleasant surprise to get these in my inbox.

The Full Uncensored Mix

The album was recorded at Garage Studios in Sussex, England and produced by Martin Smith, former bassist of the Electric Light Orchestra. 

Mastered by Jon Astley, who produced The Who, Eric Clapton, Deborah Harry, Kate Bush etc...

Nick Coler, plays keys on "Tight Pants" he has written for Kylie Minogue, Sugar Babes to name a few.
 
Three members of the Swing and Jive band “The Jive Aces" play on "Simon Says".

The album was recorded mostly live to give it a more authentic feel, this means the musicians rehearsed all the songs beforehand and then played each track in as organic as possible.

Of the 7 track EP, all bar one were written by Catherine herself.
All the vocals are sung by Catherine, including arranging the harmonies of all the backing vocals.

Catherine has been a recording artist since childhood and has been performing on TV and radio throughout Europe from a very early age.

The EP will be released on 30 September 2012, available through CD Baby, online and in stores.
