This is a quartet for Violin, Bassoon, Piano, and Double Bass that I've really enjoyed writing, as I feel it shows many of my most natural compositional faces.

Faces In The Moonlight (Sibelius 7 Sounds)

This is a seven movement brass quartet written for two trumpets, trombone, and tuba. A collection of miniatures and  a combination of quartets, trios, duets, and solos, it explores the different possible combinations of these instruments. The movements are as follows:

Faces in the Moonlight (Live 2015)

Under Your Skin is made up of three movements intended to slowly (or not, in some cases) provide an eerie atmosphere which removes the listeners’ sense of ease. Disjunctitude follows an ABA form, with a short coda at the end. The abrasive rhythms and harmonies of the A section are meant to put the listener on edge, only to suddenly find themselves in a calm, reflective waltz. This waltz, however, quickly ends and the listener is thrown back into the fray of the A section. A study in sound decay and resonance, This Isn’t My House…is made up of a series of musical thoughts which are repeated, with the sustain pedal down for the entirety of the movement. The score provides notes and instructions, but leaves a bulk of the music to be interpreted by the performer. Highly contrapuntal, A Turn Around is inspired, in part, by the piano inventions of J.S. Bach. The two hands are often presenting very independent melodies and pushing against each other rhythmically. The climax of the movement takes place when the right hand plays a repeating six note triplet melody, removing a note upon each iteration, while the left hand plays octaves each time the melody reaches the beginning. Once this cycle is complete the right hand reverses the process, adding a note back on with each repetition.
