Hunter is the second GameChops release from chiptune musician Mega Flare, this time he turns his focus to the dark melodies of Castlevania. Mega Flare uses a Nintendo Gameboy with the homebrew software LSDj to make music. This time, he collaborated with Dj CUTMAN to record each channel of the Gameboy&#39;s sound-chip separately to mix them using Ableton Live. The result are two larger-than-life chiptune tracks with driving basslines and crisp clean leads. You can hear the influence of Baltimore&#39;s clubs in Mega Flare&#39;s drum patterns and arrangement.

Hunter is now available on Loudr, and also includes two tracks, a remix of Castlevania: Simon's Quest and Castlevania Legends.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate : Main Theme

Hey guess who's back? ...I'm talking about Rool, that is.

So recently King K. Rool got announced for Super Smash Bros Ultimate and everybody is happy, me included. A bit of a shame that it took so long but better late than never, eh? Anyways, since then Gangplank Galleon remixes have been popping up everywhere (including Smash itself) so I thought I'd contribute. I already loved this song and I've been meaning to make a remix out of it, but the announcement gave me the inspiration I needed to finally do it. It was fun.

And yes, that's a lil' bit of Bowser's theme from Mario 64 at the beginning. Originally I meant to include King Dedede's theme in there as a fake out in a reference to the Smash Trailer, but since I was working with a pipe organ I decided that a certain other fellow Nintendo villain's theme worked much better and smoothly as a transition between the first and second phases. So yeah, enjoy.

King K. Rool and all related content belong to... Nintendo, right? The whole copyright mess with Rare and Microsoft still has me confused.
