Selected 11 LPs from my collection. Then I had to choose one song from each album, limiting myself in a that fashion. Ripped all songs from vinyl to digital then recorded set. Definitely some challenges as a few of the songs had a natural tempo fluctuation, making beat matching exciting and challenging.

You don't get much deeper Underground than my next very special guest producer, Shawn Sampson, aka DEXAGON (Feel The Funk Records, One:Thirty, SOUP NYC).  Broadcast FRI 1ST AUG, Episode 41 in my ongoing B2B Producer Series ia a frenzied moshpit of sound straight from the Underground ... with the best in Bass, Acid, and Tech House bubbling up from the streets of Madison, WI (USA), all the way to Hong Kong.  A wizard in the studio, and topnotch DJ, Shawn raised the roof, than burned the damn building to the ground - forcing me to bring my A-game as well. In the end, an all-out, balls-to-the-walls collab with nearly 40 scorching tracks in just 2hrs (many of them Unreleased Exclusives, Mashups, and Edits!). It’s one helluva party we promise ya that. Found House Music in 1997 at The Underground shop in North Highlands, CA, after hearing about a party that went down around that time in San Francisco (Wicked). House proved to be a very uplifting, non-aggressive, and non-depressing new music genre that appeared highly underrated.  In fact, I did not see House as dance music until much later in life. The DJ mixes I were listening to were more like “soundtracks for daily living”.  Was very, very intrigued by the United DJs of America and Global Underground DJ 💿 mix albums. I did not make it to the club scene at all as a young father, and also being in Sacramento.  The scene seemed wack compared to what was happening in San Francisco.  Listened only for about 7 years every chance I could possibly get (approx 11,000 hours of ear time between 97’ and 04').  Yes, I was the guy strollin’ thru Arden Fair Mall slammin’ house beats in my headphones (that could easily be heard from other people nearby) because IDidntGAF.  I used to make the staff in the stock room at Ross Stores Inc. listen to House on the little boom box (cassettes!) they had while we processed merchandise.  I had them convinced for about a year that it made everyone more productive (98'-99'). Lol.  Did have a super unfortunate event in 04'.  My car was broken into and about 350 store bought CDs (dj mixes) were stolen.  There were other valuables in the car that were not taken.  I paid for all of those cd albums with tips I received working in restaurants. 
Despite this happening....
...I started mixing on my own in 05' self-learning and applying by way of ear on a Numark CDMIX2, years before sync button technology.  I will also give credit to Chris Almazan (Beat Fleet DJs), as he gave me some fundamental beat matching tips back in the year 2000.  

Last, my basis on selecting and playing songs is if they sound good, and that’s it.

Faded Opportunities:

Ink Eats and Drinks August 2003-brought in a few CD album mixes (MF sets.  Live at OM and 🤔) that were played in the bar b4 their vinyl DJ came on (he played top 40, 80s to then.  Justin) Told the bar tender (Demitrious) that I’d be interested in doing sets there, too.  No DJ experience, but didn’t care.  I was going to learn, quickly.  He said he would push for it if I could bring a similar sound to the CD mixes I brought.  Planning for express emergency equipment procurement began.  The very next week, Ink’s entertainment sector was shut down by the city planning commission.  Dreams smashed.  No equipment.  Would have been vinyl turntables.  

SRO Corporation May 2008-AKA Bistro 33 and a few other establishments.  4 years practice in on cd mixing equipment (NuMark CD Mix 2 and two Axis 9 CDJs) The company had planned to open Club Tré, on Howe Ave in Sacramento.  I connected with one of the Executives for SRO corp and he passed me on to a Desi who was involved in the entertainment for the Sacramento club known as Town House.  Desi had been recruited as the Director of Entertainment for Club Tré.  I submitted some cd mixes to him, and he called me back and said he’d like to get me in there as a DJ.  Well, there was a disagreement I had with the management at Bistro 33 Davis (serious haters), so this opportunity fell apart due to politics.

Then I left DJing, and just became a listener again.  Found the EDjing app in 2013 and bought a Pioneer DDJ.  Did almost 100 mixes in the app while the ddj sat in a closet.
Went to MF50 and was revived.  Started mixing on the DDJ regularly.

Finally jumped into vinyl (Dec 2019).  One House record purchased, however, way back in 06’.  

Released two wack tracks in 2020 and one in 2021 that were produced using Apple Garageband software (Iphone).  

Joined Underground Kollektive Radio in late 2022.


Might end up being “washed up”….from the land side.  And thats ok.  Had a good amount of curveballs in life.
